I was milling over the last post from @naturalmedicine today: A post about the end of the naturalmedicine.io front end ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ. I have a pretty large #lotus stake that I have been sitting on for some time now ... okay it's #17 on the richlist but still ... that's enough that I should at least curate with. I have 25010 Lotus staked currently.

The post from @naturalmedicine explains that the upkeep of the naturalmedicine.io front end is no longer possible, but that the Proof of brain [voting on posts tagged #lotus and getting token votes] is still active. So in other words, people can still earn Lotus tokens from blogging although there is no tribe front end anymore.

I jumped onto the Hive-Engine block explorer and confirmed bloggers were getting paid lotus token from an official account. This was important for obvious reasons. We want to test if the Proof of Brain is actually live! It's an old account from 2019 and you can tell from the interactions/comments its an official account.

I also re-familiarized myself with the tokenomics of Lotus.

The decimal point is 8 ... I like that. Staking and delegations enabled. That is a few thousand dollars we dont have to spend LOL [1K BEE for each feature if I remember correctly]. The circulating supply is only around 10 million! And the max is only 90 Mil! That is nice and low. A lot of HE tokens have a huge supply of like a billion plus.

The total staked is only around 2 mil. My account has around 40K Staked.

As you can plainly see: The sell books for #lotus is insanely thin.

178.4204 Worth of Hive buys and then you are at 10 Hive per token ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜… I am going to chip away at this Sell wall, while also adjusting based on who else decides to dump their token [or possibly buy at the same time as me]. It could go either way. I will keep my eye on the lotus market. My overall goal of course, will be to increase my stake.

@ecoinstant and I have been talking about making a gardening tribe for a while now.

We have been going back and forth between what we should do. Should we launch a tribe? An outpost? With nfts? Should we make a community and hire someone to build a custom Proof of Brain? ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”โ“โ“โ“โ“โ“ The price of Hive-engine tools are expensive. We could save a LOT of money launching a project for an existing token. The Lotus creator hinted that there could be "new beginnings" for the project after the canceling of the front end. Does this mean anyone could make a new front end? That's how I take it.

I whipped up a quick community because I think we should go down that road ... I used to have a gardening community AGES ago [when we were still on STEEM]. It's still there, but I'm not even sure I saved the password. I like the idea of create a new community anyways. I WILL START CURATING THROUGH THIS NEW COMMUNITY I want to start voting with my stake again. So post in this new community! https://peakd.com/c/hive-168617/created [Don't forget to use the #lotus tag].

I would like to raise the white flag and ask the community about this, so that it is a peaceful takeover ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚ although I couldn't imagine why anyone would care. I don't plan on flagging anyone or anything dramatic like that. If we use a front end tied to a community we can just mute users [from receiving my delegation].

If I could get the blessing of @riverflows [founder] or the other Lotus whales ... that would be nice :) ๐Ÿคž We wouldn't be taking over the project or anything. Think of it like a curation project. It just seems so much smarter to "revive" lotus than to make a new gardening token and tribe! It will be just like the good old days of naturalmedicine.io, except we wouldnt have access to the Lotus token keys. So we wouldn't issue new tokens for any reason [which is probably a good thing].

If you are someone who uses the #lotus, #gardening or #homesteading type tags: What do you think of this concept to "peacefully overtake" Lotus? If so, how would you like to see this idea implemented? Comment your feedback below.
