Neither a borrower nor a lender be?

A couple of weeks ago, I loaned a friend I've had for over thirty years 100 pounds. His sister owned a chip shop and rented the flat above, and the closure of non-essential businesses had left her up shit creek without a paddle. He had given her most of his wage to cover debts and needed a little to cover food until payday.

At the start of this week he asked me if I could lend him a bit more until today, a bonus payday for him as he works for a pharmaceutical company here in the UK who are involved in trying to sort out Covid-19.

I checked my bank account online for forthcoming direct debits and worked out that I would have fourteen pounds and sixteen pence left by today if I gave him another 100, so I did.

Today, as he promised, the money is back in my account and I now have plenty to tide me over until next weeks reduced salary is issued.

The thing is, when I sent the first amount over, it didn't make me feel good. I worried that this money was lost, when perhaps I should have felt happy that I was helping a friend, and indirectly, his sister. Why? - I didn't lose my friend or my money.

I've never asked to borrow money from my friends, and rarely have they asked the same of me. Is this something that you or your friends do often?

Sooo, what about that HIVE price?!

@thepeakstudio

Mostly, I'm glad I vested 25k the other day. I don't have to sit and try to trade in and out of BTC, and likely lock myself out while HIVE shoots up 1000 Satoshi in five minutes flat.

I'm also glad and appreciative of the chance to offload STEEM (others sadly cannot right now) while JS props the price up on the exchanges. He must be fuming today, but as my mum used to say, 'you've made your bed, now lie in it'.

As funds over there stay locked for some accounts, and threats are being made to worsen the situation, who in their right mind would consider STEEM as an investment going forward? A golden opportunity squandered I think, but things to be working out for those moving on to newer pastures.

I try to thank those behind the Hive wherever possible, but again, thank you for all the hard work!

Enjoy another lockdown Friday evening all, I've got a couple of beers to keep me company :)

Cheers
