Power up - sure why wouldn't you??

It's a complete no brainer for me to power up my Hive and to this day I've never powered any down, not a single Hive. When my HBD rewards mature, I bide my time for a good rate on the internal market and then convert it to Hive and then power it up. This month I've waited a little while for Hive Power Up day to arrive. By being patient I managed to convert a nice chunk at a rate of between 0.3HBD and 0.33HBD to 1 Hive.

Of course i don't know anyone else's personal situation and many may have very legitimate reasons to cash some out to put food on the table or clothes on your back, but for me that's not the case and everything I earn here is locked in, compounding my gains. I'd urge you to do the same if your circumstances allow, unless you really need immediate access to your unds for emergency reasons.

My gains on sidechains are also reinvested by staking everything Again I see this as the intelligent long play.

I have momentum

It's taken some time to get momentum, but I finally have some and April has been my best month yet in the Hive eco system. I've posted about beer, I've posted about meals I've cooked, I've posted about what Google gets up to, I've posted about the life and times of Mike Tyson and Steffi Graf I've posted about the wonder of flight and loads of other random things. I try my best to bring my personality and knowledge to my writing and I've been delighted with the reponse from the community.

Come on, jump inside my time machine. Let me bring you back to April 1st to see my reputation at 60 and my Hive Power at 406.

30 days later, here i am with a reputation of 62.5 and Hive Power of 923. That's an amazing transformation for me and thanks a million for all those who have supported me in more than doubling my Hive Power within 1 month. I know its a cliche, but hard work does pay off. I started posting once per day about 3 or 4 months ago, and little by little I was noticed by some kind and thoughtful curators who've helped me hugely and encouraged me to continue to dedicate time and effort to posting the best content I can muster. If you're new here and you feel insignificant, I urge you to stay the course and keep posting quality - you will be found by our excellent team of manual curators, who sift through Hive hour to hour, minute to minute 365 days a year. That's the beauty of a world wide distributed self sustaining network of Hive users.

Curators working hard

When you take time to write and contribute on this platform, it takes hard work and not just from the poster. Of equal importance is the hard work and graft done by manual curators like @acidyo around the world to unearth these posts. A huge thanks from me goes out to @ewkaw @roadstories @anggreklestari @brumest @ecency @cryptoandcoffee @kaelci and many others for finding some of my posts and the many other posts you guys curate on a daily basis. You guys are a huge reason for our success on Hive - thank you.

Thanks as well to @curie @curangel and  @sportstalksocial. You keep many of us going and help us to retain our ambitions to grow.

I want to give one more shout out, and that's to @edprivat who gave me a brilliant steer about communities on hive a few months back, as well as introducing me to my favourite little corner of Hive, which is #sportstalksocial. If you like sport and you have some original ideas or opinions, I'd highly recommend that you join our community. Ed is wonderful musician, avid UFC fan and all round cool human. You'll find him posting his latest and greatest tunes from France and posting many thought provoking and heartfelt commentaries in his day to day life and society at large. Go check him out.

Early adopter

As I mentioned in a recent post, remember that you are an early adopter. You are here before the masses. You are a visionary. It is only a matter of time before many more look to follow in your footsteps 👣

Have a look at the graph above and look at the early adopters, that is us, we are ahead of the curve and eventually we will see the growth that comes when the early majority, late majority and laggards join us here. So take advantage of your early adopter status. Up your game. Post only quality content. Engage with others on the eco system and watch as you flourish.

Leo Finance is free

Another of my favorite communities is Leo Finance. What some people fail to realise is that in other industries you would pay a fee to be a part of a well informed community like this, filled with Crypto subject matter experts (SMEs) who openly share investment tips, in depth analysis and informed commentary on Cryptocurrency markets and trends.

In shares and investments, The Motley Fool comes to mind, where you pay a yearly subscription ranging from $199 per year for "Rule your retirement" all the way up to $13999 per year for "One access"

Now compare this to the fees for our Leo community. We pay zero, nada, nothing for always on instant advice on all matters relating to Leo, Bitcoin and everything in between and we have direct access to whales with huge holdings, who are happy to impart knowledge to our ever growing user base. It is a model not based on greed, but rather mutual growth and the more you contribute and interact, the more you can potentially grow and learn. I feel privileged to be a part of this community and I'm excited about the journey we are on together.

Power Up Day May 2021

Last month I took part in Hive PUD, and here I am again. It's a good way of showcasing the importance of powering up and staking what you have in the Cyrpto space in order to put your earnings to work and compound with even more earnings.

Another bonus for me is that it gives me a timestamp that i can easily refer back to, like i did above when you joined me on my time machine 😁 I'm already looking forward to seeing where I am next month on June 1st. Can I double again? I doubt it, but it certainly won't stop me from trying my hardest. It's always good to have a lofty goal in order to try and get the best out of yourself.

These were the criteria for Hive PUD:

• Your reputation must be above 39 and below 70.

I meet this one with a reputation of 62.5

• Your total Hive Power (before the 1st) must be more than 100 and less than 8000.

My total hive power before 1st was 755 HP

• You must power up at least 10 Hive on April 1st.

I have just powered up 167 Hive bringing up to 923 Hive Power overall

• You must write a post about your power up on April 1st with the tag #hivepud (International) or #hpud (Spanish).

This is my post about the power up

Proof

Thanks to @traciyork for this cool Hive Power Up Day contest and thanks to @streetstyle for the great idea formed way back in 2019!
