Hey everyone. I hope you all are fine and enjoying your time here. I would like to talk about the aforementioned topic today. The Muslim world is observing the Holy month of Ramadan, the month of blessings. Sadly, the ongoing inflation has gone up. Inflation is a persistent issue in Pakistan, and it has been further exacerbated during the month of Ramadan. Ramadan is considered a holy month for Muslims and is marked by increased consumption, including higher food prices due to the demand surge. The inflation rate in Pakistan is currently at a staggering 11.1%, which is the highest it has been in almost three decades.

The high inflation rate has affected all segments of society, but it is particularly hard on the poor and the middle class, who struggle to meet their daily needs. The prices of essential commodities such as flour, sugar, cooking oil, and vegetables have skyrocketed during the holy month. This has left many households struggling to afford basic necessities, let alone the extra expenses that come with Ramadan.

The Pakistani government has tried to address the issue of inflation by implementing various measures. It has reduced the import duty on basic food items to ensure their availability and control prices. The government has also launched a crackdown on hoarders and profiteers who are accused of stockpiling essential items and selling them at inflated prices. However, these measures have not been enough to curb the rise in prices.

One of the major reasons behind the high inflation rate in Pakistan is the depreciation of the Pakistani rupee against the US dollar. The depreciation of the rupee has made imports more expensive, including the essential food items that are not produced locally. This has led to higher prices of imported goods, which has had a ripple effect on the prices of locally produced goods as well.

The cost of transportation has gone up, which has made it more expensive to move goods around the country. This has resulted in higher prices of goods, including food items. The current scenario of inflation in Pakistan during Ramadan is a cause for concern. The high inflation rate has made it difficult for people to afford basic necessities and enjoy the holy month of Ramadan. The government needs to take further steps to control inflation, including stabilizing the exchange rate, reducing the cost of transportation, and increasing the supply of essential items. Only then can the people of Pakistan hope to live with some semblance of economic stability and prosperity.

We can, thankfully, afford necessary commodities, but those below the poverty line are suffering the most. I felt the need to talk about it, so I shared it here.

Ps. The picture is of an old lady who was selling something. I took it with my Redmi note 10 after taking her consent.

Thank you for your time and support.
