Each and one of us has his/her story with crypto and some are more fascinating than others, while some of you are OGs of the crypto world, I'm to be considered a one bear market old crypto guy and we're all part of this revolution. I'm not too experienced, but old enough to to know something about it.
I first heard of crypto in the summer of 2017, from a good friend of mine. It was at the end of July of that year, when I came back from a year spent in Norway, and he talked me for the first time about Bitcoin. He'd actually said: I've got a good idea on where you should put some savings of yours!.
He was pretty well educated about blockchain, Bitcoin and crypto at that time, and was owning some 0.7 BTC if I remember corrcetly. He showed me his wallet on his smartphone, which was a Jaxx one at that time, educated me about alts as well and trading opportunities on exchanges and tbh I wasn't too impressed.
The first idea that came to my mind, was how the hell should I buy some digital internet coin worth $4,000 and risk loosing it by simply sending it to a wrong address or... wrong blockchain. I tell you, my small brain couldn't comprehend that information at that time.
I didn't simply passed over those chats with him though and started reading on the internet and watching youtube videos related to blockchain, Bitcoin and crypto. I would spend quite some time everyday doing that, I already had an app installed on my phone to check prices and something from this crypto world wasn't letting me abandon it.
I had a failed attempt to buy myself one BTC in September 2017, but due to some bank issues I haven't materialized that and got pissed off. Had I been calmer and could have purchased the digital gold at a fairer price, but as time passed by I finally decided to buy some crypto and purchased 10 LTC in October of that year... if I remember correctly.
I've shared this story with my LTC purchase a couple of times on my blog, but what really held me back that long from investing in crypto? I'd say lack of knowledge and I would advise anyone who enters crypto to at least get a minimum education on it. Otherwise you'll end up rekt, disappointed and frustrated, missing a one in a lifetime opportunity.
