If you play Splinterlands, Risingstar or other games on Hive, you are probably familiar with the NFT's linked to these games. The great thing is that you can see these NFT's on the blockchain even if you are not playing the game itself. That's how 3rd party websites like Nftmart can propose a marketplace for NFT's for some of the games. This is the basis for a whole ecosystem growing around the gaming scene on hive.

Now we went one step further however. The game Splinterforge is being played with your Splinterlands cards. Keeping in mind that the team behind this game is not affiliated with Splinterlands, this shows that we have here something pretty exceptional.

Anybody can start to create games using NFT's from other games!

The amazing power of multi game NFT's

Why you wonder this is so special? Well first of all, a new game can directly access the playerbase from another existing game. Every Splinterands player is now also a potential Splinterforge player. Instead of starting from zero, Splinterforge just needs to make sure that the Splinterlands ecosystem knows about their game. I see this as a huge boost for the new game.

But it's not only positive for Splinterforge. I believe it's also a big plus for Splinterlands. I have been playing Splinterforge for about a week now and I purchased and rented several cards just for the purpose of playing Splinterforge! This means that each card gets one more use case. This can have an impact on the demand of these cards and also on their price on the markets.

Both games profit from this synergy. Then we will have tower defence where you can again use some Splinterlands cards. Another use case for your cards, another way to play them and even to earn money with them!

Potential without limits

Imagine if there are 10 games using the same basic NFT's. Not only will this affect the demand for cards but it will also broaden the market penetration. If you have 10 individual games that all try to attract players, the numbers of users could increase a lot. All these users would want the same cards. As we see for Splinterlands alone, how many 3rd party services have emerged. I believe this could fuel an ever growing gaming ecosystem on Hive.

In my opinion, we are still in the starting blocks but I'm looking forward for more of such games using NFT's of other games!
