Guild of Guardians is a free-to-play mobile first mmorpg using blockchain technology for asset ownership and playtoearn. They're inspired by games such as Diablo and Dungeons and Dragons.

Here's their cinematic trailer:

Guild of Guardians is going to be published by Immutable and the game assets people can buy won't be tradable early on as they'll be going straight to Starkware's layer 1 zksnarks solution to the ETH fees; Immutable X. I've posted about Immutable X when it launched and it's currently in the rollout stages of Gods Unchained cards, starting with the season 2 cards called Trial of the Gods that players have been able to trade between each other freely by sending ETH onto IMX and there not being susceptible to any fees.

One can understand why this is an important part of trading ingame assets in this day and age where ETH fees can become higher than any asset is worth when interacting with NFT's inside smart contracts.

The gameplay will basically consist of having a Hero which are classified by different factions, classes, elements and rarities. These hero's are part of what will be sold here in the first sale up to 20% discount and another 5% if you use a referral link. This next screenshot explains the heroe's rather well, taken from their website.

There will also be guilds that are sold in today's presale, this is to incentivize the game to be multiplayer and have people team up for social co-ops. Players won't be able to complete the hardest parts of the games solo so they will want to join a guild for extra perks and help with defeating the content. In return, the leader of the guild will earn a cut for all items players collect and thereafter craft or place for sale on the marketplace (immutable X). Guilds come in 4 tiers:

Adventurers Guild

  • 20 Guild Members
  • Guild Leader gets a guaranteed first-cut of 1% of any sale

Warriors Guild

  • 30 Guild Members
  • Guild Leader gets a guaranteed first-cut of 2.5% of any sale

Legends Guild

  • 40 Guild Members
  • Guild Leader gets a guaranteed first-cut of 5% of any sale

Mythic Guild

  • 50 Guild Members
  • Guild Leader gets a guaranteed first-cut of 10% of any sale

This is mostly what's going to be sold today, for more info about the game and the ideology behind the creators of it, I suggest anyone to read the whitepaper of it.

Here's what's important to know for the presale today:

You can notice that the guilds become more and more expensive down the line with more members allowed to be in it and them being more scarce while offering higher cut of sales. At the same time even the cheaper versions are quite scarce considering over 130k people have signed up for the presale with Hero's only 7500 existing of and costing $250 each. I also read that an address will max be able to purchase 50 Hero's in one go so I'm expecting these to go quick.

To be able to interact with the contracts, you'll of course need to have a Metamask available and loaded. If anyone reading this is planning on buying part of this early bird presale, I'd recommend to keep an eye on ETH's gas fees and at the same time expect to add a premium on your gas fees to make sure you're not left empty handed as I do expect these to go quick based on the reach the game has gotten already and with future sales being more expensive.

By using my referral link, you save up to 5% on top of the 20% discount of this first presale (Click on this sentence for the link!)

I also found this interview of one of the founders of the game interesting before deciding to invest in GOG hosted by Cagyjan who looks like a dutch version of @ned.

I will personally attempt to get a guild at least to see if we can get Team OCD back active depending on how the gameplay turns out to be, but if it's anything like Diablo it will probably turn out to be quite fun. Aside from being able to flip these first wave of sale items I assume quite easily it could be a nice long term hold as well as NFT's with utility and being able to generate more revenue are something that's been lacking in the space and I believe are how they're going to evolve in the future with gaming assets especially paving the way.

Are you going to try and buy any of the items? Which in that case?

Thanks for reading and let me know how it goes, the sale goes live in 2 hours from this post going out!
