So while I was scrolling through hive.blog I saw an interesting post and an observation by an author named @acidyo check post here....

Vote selling is a trend which I got to know about on steemit and I must say it was one of the major factors that made steemit to loose it's relevance ,,and made alot of people to leave the platform because it was becoming too spammy and there were alot of poor contents getting good rewards whole the good contents are not getting enough visibility because of of all the several spammy posts on the platform....

I observed that Most of the vote selling Which occured on Steemit were votes that occured via some bots/bid-bots,most of these bots upvote contents based on what you are bringing to the table and do not care about the quality of your contents....

. It can be referred to as an actual system whereby users pay to actually get votes on their contents and the quality does not matter anymore, this is an act which is not really good for a content driven platform and such acts should be discouraged....

It might look un-hurting in the short term but on the long run it will have a negative impact on the platform....

I actually decided to join Steemit in february 2018 and I actually decided to visit the trending page often to see great contents because I used to assume or let me say believe that for those contents to be on trending page then they must be of good quality, but I was surprised to see that there were alot of poor quality contents that were getting undeserved high rewards and it was happening frequently....

I was wondering how the spammers were able to achieve such a high rewards on their spammy/poor contents, then later I realized that they were all buying upvotes for their contents and they invested massively on the vote buying market..... .

So at some point,it now turned to a difficult task to easily spot great contents because many spammy contents have overshadowed them simply because they are able to make their own content get more visibility since they have huge upvotes on their contents, yeah upvotes which they bought for some price....

If those spammers mean well for the platform, they should have just simply use that same money to "promote" their post instead of creating spammy contents and buying upvotes to get them on trending page.....

This is just my own personal.opinion...
