It's time for Afri-Anniversary oooo!!!

We invite all Writers and Musicians (Vocalists, Instrumentalists, Song writers, Music composers and Orchestra musicians) to join us in celebrating this great Milestone on Hive.

Our contest for the Afri-Anniversary will have two categories; music and writing. The aim of the contest is to celebrate the African Tunes or Music on Hive, and this you can do so by sharing your lovely musical piece or your written piece related to the niche (African Music).

MUSIC CATEGORY

We encourage you to sing or play your musical instrument with passion and love. You can either compose a song or present a cover of a song that is directly or indirectly related to any African musical genre.

For Valid Entry

  • Subscribe to Afritunes Community
  • Post in Afritunes Community
  • Upload video via 3speak or Youtube video via ecency
  • Use the unique tags of the event
  • Include “AFRI-ANNIVERSARY” in your title
  • At the introductory part of the video: say your name, week title (Afri-Anniversary) and the title of the song you wish to present.
  • Let your word count be 250+
    • Let your writeup contain more of your inspiration behind the song or reason for choosing the song.
    • If lyrics are added, it must be cited properly.
  • Properly cite all external materials.
  • "Proper" use of instrumentals as background music is allowed

We also invite writers who would love to participate in this amazing event. You are invited to share your inspirational, motivational, experiential, financial, comedy or fictional form of writeup that directly or indirectly relates to African music. For instance, you can write about:

  • Your best African song(s)
  • Your experience in an African cultural event (with emphasis on the musical aspect)
  • Relationship between African music and Gaita, Flamenco, Rumba, Salsa or Reggae.
  • The future of African music
  • Incorporating Web3 into African music
  • African music on Hive
  • Hive Marketing using the model: Afri-tunes Branded T-Shirt embedded with QR
  • Your hope, plans or ideas for Afri-tunes community
  • Or.... anything creative (except writeups that are NSFW).

Side Information

Members of @hive-naija and @hive.ghana can publish their post for Afri-Anniversary in their individual communities (Hive Naija or Hive Ghana) as they would also be eligible for the unique reward and mini-contest from the Communities.

GENERAL INFORMATION FOR AFRI-ANNIVERSARY CONTEST

  • The Afri-Anniversary contest will begin on Friday, 3rd March 2023 by 00:00 (GMT +1) and will end on Thursday, 9th March 2023 by 23:59 (GMT +1).
  • You can only make one entry (either music or writing)
  • Comment on, at least, two Afri-anniversary posts
  • Ensure to use the contest tag and include your link in the post that will be shared at the beginning of the Anniversary week to make sure your entry is valid.
  • If you have the Afri-tunes Branded T-Shirt, we'd love to see you wear it to sing or/and upload lovely pictures with the T-Shirt in your post write-up.
