This is a staggering number and honestly better than I thought it would be. Plus for every person that owns crypto there's got to be another person considering it!

Crypto asset ownership continues to rise across the board and according to a somewhat recent study from Gemini crypto exchanges the average investor is a 38 year old male with an average income of $110,000.

The Average Crypto Investor

Does that describe what you picture when you think "average crypto investor"?

I don't know, based on the wide variety of characters I've meet online and irl that are interested in crypto or actually own crypto, well yeah most are millennials, men in their 30's with disposable income. But what about the ladies of crypto, where art thou?

Of the 63% of adults who say they are “crypto-curious,” 53% are women.

So right now women are sitting more on the sideline, and i have to wonder why such gap when it comes to gender and crypto.

Are women less likely to have disposable income, are they less likely to be tech inclined, or perhaps more risk adverse?

I can only speculate, and I think this is something that could be worthy of studying.

I'm So Knowledgeable!

Oh look at you, you're so smart! I'm pretty sure half the crypto folks I talk to would love to hear those sweet words.

Turns out of the 3,000 people polled for the survey only 11% of current investors classify themselves as “not very knowledgeable.”

I'm not sure how they build their sample but this seems oddly low to me. With so many new folks entering crypto this past year to only have 11% say they're not very knowledge, is laughable. So the flip side of that is 89% of respondents consider themselves at least somewhat knowledgeable.

What constitutes knowledgeable?

Going through KYC on Coinbase or Binance and clicking a button to fund your account with a credit card and picking up some DOGE?

Education is Key To Adoption

A key point of interest identified by the study that shouldn't be ignored highlights the fact that those both with crypto and those only crypto-curious are hungry for more crypto knowledge.

Education seems to be a crucial component of crypto growth for investors and “crypto-curious” alike. Of the 3,000 people polled, 77% said they want to learn more about crypto, even if they already own some cryptocurrency.

There's opportunity here to attract eyeballs, one of the reasons I started a crypto education website this year. Not all of the content is evergreen and the traffic will surely ebb and flow with the market, with lows likely to come when the bear market is upon us.

There is a market for crypto education, and this market is only going to grow over the coming years. This market isn't just limited to North America and Europe but spans the entire globe. Men and women with disposable income are searching for crypto knowledge.

This could be a key opportunity worth leveraging to bring people into the LEO ecosystem if done right.

Certainly as the domain authority grows for leofinance.io there should be a continued uptick in traffic from SERP. Here's to a bright future with opportunities for those that are interested.

Ciao for now,
