When it comes to investing people should always do their own research right. Give themselves time to find what works best for their interests, their risk tolerance, their time line. Due diligence stuff.

For casual conversations about crypto a lot of the time it's around the hot topics (DOGE) and I get it, it's fun and the hype is real.

That said there's opportunity to steer conversations towards things like utility, value, tokenomics, and the different types of emerging tech and the problems they solve.

This is when you can find the happy medium and bring up a few different market segments where there's products that do these things.

DeFi

Decentralized finance continues to grow in popularity and for good reason. The ability to conduct financial transactions peer to peer without a trusted intermediary is revolutionary in many ways.

Making financial investments trustless in the crypto space lowers the barrier to entry and allows for many participants. Without the need for intermediaries there's opportunity to earn better ROI on investments.

These major DeFi brands being established today will be some of the major financial institutions of tomorrow. Sometimes the way I explain this is imagine your country was establishing a new generation of banks and you had the opportunity to invest in these companies in the early stages would you do it?

NFT's

Essentially an ownership revolution is taking place and it's being done through the production and sale of shiny digital collectibles.

The implications of empowering people to create wealth and value through provable digital ownership is far reaching. Right now collectors are trying to scratch their itch with the latest and greatest collectibles, slowly but surely establishing provable ownership as a basic expectation.

There's simply no going back! I do think some particular NFT's are over hyped and likely over priced but the true full potential of this ownership revolution is worth more than many people can comprehend.

It might be shiny collectibles animated gif's today, but tomorrow it will be every aspect of our digital lives and all of the data we produce will be owned and secured behind cryptographic keys and wallets.

Interoperability

Last but not least,... blockchain interoperability. At first there's a mad rush to develop blockchain technology for almost any use case you can think of.

These developments empower different groups of people to participate and leverage the tech in order to create value, but many or these groups are siloed as the different chain don't "speak" to each other.

Starting now and as we move into the future the blockchain tech that connects with the most blockchains and allows the most ways for different group of people to participation wins.

Keep a close eye on business that are building products that are designed with interoperability as a core feature.

Final Thoughts

There you go, a few key areas to where you can steer a conversation with someone that's new to blockchain. Step back a little and see where things are going, what's hot, but also why it's hot, what does that tech do that adds value and makes it relevant.

A few conversations around utility, value, and tokenomics and people will get it, they'll see past some of the hype and hopefully helps them makes the best investment decisions they can.
