The rumors are true! MobileCoin will be the first crypto to be integrated with Signal App.

In a previous post Signal App to Launch Cryptocurrency Payments I had put two and two together and figured that with Signals creator Moxie Marlinspike also serving as advisor on MobileCoin, it would indeed be the first crypto to be incorporated into the app.

MobileCoin may be the first crypto to make it's way into the messaging app but probably won't be the last.

I have to imagine that there's still much regulatory red tape to cut through. Not only is Signal now allowing payments but they've kicked things off with a privacy coin! Go big or go home right?

Sure we will probably see other crypto's incorporated into the app over time, but Signals ethos is privacy so it makes complete sense that they start with a privacy coin. Perhaps they only offer pricy coins going forward, that also wouldn't surprise me.

I wouldn't complain if they offered a stable coin in there at some point, but hey is there even a stable coin that offers it's users privacy?

What is MobileCoin

MobileCoin is a cryptocurrency designed to be used as digital cash on your phone. It's easy to use with near instantaneous transactions.

Signal has released a new beta version of it's popular privacy messaging app. However it's only iOS and only in the UK for now but it includes the ability to send and receive MobileCoin!

Try Signal App Today

If you haven't already I suggest you give Signal a try. It's a Free privacy messenger service with apps for both mobile and desktop. It's UI is easy to use and it also features video chat, so it's even a suitable replacement for skype or or even zoom if you're just meeting one on one.

I wrote about the privacy app in this post Encrypt Your Comms Now! and also here in my post It's Time To Take Your Privacy Seriously!

If you're starting to see the trend you'd be correct, I take my privacy seriously.

If I can manage to switch off of Facebook messenger and even drop WhatsApp then I know you can too. It's hard to break old habits but I really think it's time to protect your data, own your data, decide what to do with you're data. Don't let tech companies mine your data, especially if you're into crypto or if you're an entrepreneur with a small business.

Think about it like this, if you an entrepreneur and your using regular text message, email, or WhatsApp or messenger all of you thoughts and actions are being monitored and entered into the AI. This includes all of your business dealings and intellectual property that is discussed through these apps.

Especially if you own a small business, keep your data safe from prying eyes.

Where To Find MobileCoin

MobileCoin is currently only traded on the FTX exchange but with it's soon to be increased visibility it would not surprise me if we see the coin listed on additional exchanges in the future.

Ciao for now,
