I've been in need of a new smartphone for a while. I've had my current smartphone for 3 years and when I bought it it wasn't very modern. His model is a Redmi 7A from Xiaomi. But despite being a basic cell phone, I like it, I can take reasonable pictures and it has worked really well for me in the last few years. However, it started to become very slow and inefficient for my work.

I work with digital marketing and I'm always communicating with a some client on my cell phone and I always need to be on Instagram and produce content. My smartphone was getting slower and slower to enter social networks, it also started to crash and the screen is very broken, for these reasons I decided that I needed to buy another one because if it didn't will start harming my work.

I'm explaining all these issues about the state of my smartphone to make it clear that I'm not a very vain and consumerist person when it comes to electronics: I'm the type of person who uses it until it breaks. And that is the case. At the time I bought my smartphone it cost 500 reais, around 95 dollars considering today's price, but at the time the dollar was less valued in Brazil so it cost less than that.

Coming to the conclusion that I needed a new cell phone, I started researching which model would meet my needs. My research focused mainly on Xiaomi which is a brand I like. After evaluating prices and performances in videos on youtube, I decided that I wanted a Redimi note 10 pro, which in Brazil is costing around 2700 Reais (about 517 dollars). However, for the first time in my life and after many researches I decided to buy by Aliexpress and there this smartphone was costing 1471.00 reais and that's 282 dollars!

That's 235 bucks saved when purchasing directly from China. When my cell phone arrives in Brazil, I will probably have to pay the customs fee, but when I read the reviews of the store where I bought the cell phone, several Brazilians were not taxed and those who was, paid a maximum of 49.87 dollars in tax; even if I do pay the maximum fee it will still be worth buying through Aliexpress.

Here's a tip for those who want to buy something, always check out reliable Chinese sites. Also, make sure the store you're buying is trustworthy; I only felt safe buying my cell phone at the store where I bought it because it had already sold more than 3,000 smartphones of that one just to Brazil.

That was my saving tip for today, as well as being my first post on Cent's front end. I hope you enjoyed it! When my new smartphone arrives, I will post some photos taken with it.
