Today, as announced yesterday in this post, I will start a new series, where I'm going to present and discuss the cards from the Splinterlands game.

The first shall be one of the rarest cards available, a so-called "ultra rare" card, as the Splinterlands team called it.

Some time ago, Splinterlands has been offering a promotion via mystery potion, where once a day a card pool happened and a there was a minor chance to get a Prince Julian. There are only 83 normal cards and 7 GF in existence.

It belongs to the Dragon lore, and it is a summoner with a cost of two mana. It is the only dragon summoner with that low mana.

At the launch, it had -1 Health debuff on the opponents cards. It was so overshoot in terms of power, so that the the Splinterlands team needed to remove this perk, as the win rate was very high, especially in the lower leagues and low mana games.

The major pros of the card and when to play it:

  • it excels in low mana games. As a dragon card, it can play all the splinters, adding the dragon cards to the game.
  • it is perfect for the Silenced Summoners rule set as it can cover all splinters

The major con of the card and when not to play it.:

  • at high mana games it is basically useless as it does not come with a trait

Price for a new acquisition is prohibitive and can be a pro and a con, depending on the angle looked at.

As we are at the price topic, we can say that this card became the most expensive card ever sold in the game, for $49999 and has been bought by @kush-hyg, a new account, which was created in September 2021. It shows that the market is growing and that we are only at the start with this game and the potential it has.

Which card shall I tackle next? The one from this post, is relatively straight forward on the game, where it is best to be used and where it shall be avoided.
