You've left home. Bought a one way ticket to Buskeria to follow your dreams of becoming a world famous music star. You get off the bus and it's late and it's cold and you aren't quite sure what to do. It all seems a little overwhelming. Well let these five beginner tips help you along your journey to stardom.

Now I'm no star myself but I am a rising star and I know my way around an illegal busk or two. I've even ventured out of the Home Town and started making waves in the Local Gig Circuit.

Tip 1: Understand what each statistic does

It's probably a bit of a no-brainer but I definitely overlooked statistics at the start in favour of diving straight into it. But you need to look at the individual statistics on a card as well as your total.

Fans: Fans' use is two-fold. Firstly the more fans you have, the more Starbits you can earn per mission. But also, fans help unlock missions. Certain missions will require a certain number of fans as well as a certain level.

The total number of fans is both from your cards and from your drunk fans (temporary).

Luck: Luck's use is also two-fold. Primarily, it increases the total number of drunk fans that you will receive from missions. It also increases the skill earned in music lessons missions depending on where the skill comes from. Eg: Luck from guitar cards increase the skill earned on the guitar lesson mission.

Skill: Skill is what is used to counter that pesky ego which will discuss later. It is earnt from cards and permanently from doing music lessons missions. There is also a planned future use for skill in an upcoming game mode.

Income Modifier: Income Modifier is used to assist in determining your player ranking on the leaderboards.

Tip 2: Watch out for that pesky ego

What is ego you might ask? It is what happens when you think you are better on stage than you actually are. It is what kills your Starbits earnings and you want to do everything in your power to reduce it.

So Ego occurs when you have 1000 total fans (permanent and temporary) or when you reach level 15. Ego increases when you have more fans than skill. You also gain permanent ego from completing missions from this point forward.

There are a few ways of reducing ego so you keep your Starbits earning high. The most common way is completing music lessons missions for permanent skill increase. Alternatively, you can buy more cards that have a higher skill to fans ratio. Finally, you can place your cards in storage but this is a very expensive option as storage cards are quite expensive.

Tip 3: Play the right missions and know what they drop

Playing the right missions relates to what is the most efficient to play. If you have ego or you need to level quickly; play music lesson missions. They provide skill and give a lot of experience for the amount of energy they use.

If you need Starbits then play missions which give high Starbits but make sure you rotate through playing different missions. The more you play a certain mission in a day the more ego you receive from completing it and remember, ego is permanent!

What can drop from missions?
Well, first and foremost is drunken fans that last for 12 hours. But you could also receive a four leaf clover which is a temporary increase to luck. If you are lucky, you could receive a coffee which increases your energy recovery rate for an hour or a discarded pizza which refills your energy to 100%. If you do not have a coffee cup or a pizza box they will be used instantly. We will discuss that in Tip 4. If you are very lucky you can even have cards drop from special missions.

Tip 4: Acquire and use the boosters

Boosters are important and will definitely increase how effectively you play the game and how you earn experience, skill and Starbits. The first booster I recommend acquiring is the Pizza Box. They are currently available for 7500 Starbits and they instantly store discarded pizza found in missions inside. That discarded pizza then can be used later at a time of your choosing. Each pizza box holds 1 discarded pizza.

I then recommend buying a Energy Boost or "Cold Pizza Slice". They are currently available for 10,000 Starbits. It restores your energy to full and has a 24 hour cooldown. The main benefit of this item is that you can use it over and over again (after waiting for the cooldown). You aren't reliant on finding discarded pizza. Hell, get a bunch of them if you are that way inclined.

The next booster is the Coffee Cup. It is currently available for 5000 Starbits. It works much the same as the Pizza Box but stores a single coffee for you for later use.

The last booster item I recommend is the Risky Whiskey. Currently available for 7500 Starbits. It stores all of the drunken fans from missions so you can use them at later time if you need them. That way it doesn't increase your ego straight away but increasing your fan count.

Tip 5: Avoid holding onto those Starbits

This last tip is a bit of a weird one at surface value. You are probably thinking that you want to hoard your Starbits so you can save up for the Starbits Millionare card. (A valuable card that lets you do a mission once a day that rewards 10,000 Starbits). But hear me out.

Spend your Starbits in your early levels on Boosters and getting more cards either through packs or the marketplace. That way you increase the rate at which you will earn Starbits. It takes a very long time to get to level 50 and this is a much better strategy whilst increasing the number of cards you have and Starbits you can earn.

Now that was quite a bit for five beginner tips. I hope it serves you well on the journey to stardom in Buskeria. If you have any additional tips please feel free to leave them in the comments section.
