The Revolution will not be televised

source

Wait? What is television, wasn't that the thing people watched before youtube and netflix?

Ya, Ole Gil was right about a few things, mainly that the revolution will not be televised.

The "revolution" will be blockchain. Or, should I say, that the blockchain is one of the most important tools of the revolution.

Explain

There have been all kinds of movements and revolutionary fervour for a long time. Heck, the United States was born out of a revolution and then quickly hi-jacked. The Protestant Reformation, there was a big one. Think about Communism coming to Russia. Jesus. The Black Panther Party, Flower Power, Occupy wall street... There have been a ton of revolutions or attempts at revolutions.

When Mao was asked some hundred years after the French Revolution if it was successful, Mao responded quite matter of factly that "it was too soon to tell." He had a point, revolutions come and go, but if they need to come around again, the problem hasn't really been solved.

After all, most revolutions arise out of some need based on a systematic problem.

For about as long as history has been history, the problem has been a simple one. Money and power (which are very much interchangeable). The have's want to keep it, and the have not's are willing to rise up to get their fair share (or more).

Usually, in the process of such great change, factors change with the tides. As some person or group comes closer to power, re-negotiations occur. This is usually why another revolution is required soon enough. Power and money... power and money.

I don't need your filthy money

With blockchain, things change. The very system which stood for thousands of years and began compounding annually is threatened. The money that they use to bribe and buy back the power is no good. We don't need it.

On Hive, there is a community, there is work, there is interaction and there is value in all of that. With bitcoin, there is value in simply holding it. With DeFi, you can hold your assets and earn more assets. The system is being replaced by a more efficient system which programs the rules to make the game (more) fair.

You don't get to make the rules, but you need to play by them... wait, that is old system. You can help make the rules, and if you don't like them, fork it. Now you can make the rules, and if your rules are better, you will bring the people with you.

Look at Hive, it was born out of that very type of revolution.

The Missing Resource

The great revolutionaries were always missing one thing. Money. They have great and noble ideas and a righteous cause, but damn is it hard to start a revolution while trying to keep this roof over my head, and food on the table, and electricity, and.... The trap has been laid and most people are caught in it.

Blockchain is bringing relief. The revolutionary can now work in blockchain with like minded folks, program and code the future that they want to see, and get paid in digital assets that now support their movement.

Set Free

I have read a few articles this week, and a few last week all with the same theme. Hive (and hive tribes) is the full time job of many people, and the number is growing. Wait until the Hive numbers start growing into the dollar figures! There are many people that can jump out of the rat race and get closer to where they want to be.

First Time

For this first time since money is there a feasible and usable alternative to money. Past revolutions always failed because the same things kept repeating. Money and power kept on happening.

Now there is all kinds of alternatives to money and people are rising to power in these new avenues. Hive Power, Leo Power, POB-Power, DeFi Power, BTC... The full time block chain workers have been gifted with freedom and can use it to build a brighter future.

Will the blockchain Revolution Work?

It is definitely too soon to tell.
