It's Saturday, and that means it's time for my weekly SaturdaySavers update post !

If you're not familiar with SaturdaySavers, it's a fabulous initiative run by @shanibeer writing as @susie-saver on the @eddie-earner account - think of it as a way to instil the discipline of regular savings with goals, ideal for people like me who live a chaotic life with far too little self-discipline !

I hope it will be spring soon, then I can start posting spring lion images :D

Here's my table of progress for the last week;

One thing I have added at the bottom is a note of what percentage of the year we are at. That way, I can quickly see which goals are under or over target (starting with next week's one, I've automated it with conditional formatting in Excel to put any I'm failing on in red text.

Now, on with the commentary;

Hive Power

The HP gain from last week might be small beans to people who can find time to make multiple posts every day, but I'm happy with it as a reward for my rate of posting and curation. I still want to try to post more and keep growing it, but it's a useful measure of what I can currently earn without just going out and buying Hive with fiat !

HBD

6.454 of the HBD gain last week was from author rewards, which I was very happy with, it's far better than I usually do !.

I also converted liquid HIVE into 42.662 HBD. Considering I'd bought the HIVE at the bottom of the market, that's an instant gain, and fits with a cunning strategy of stacking HBD early in the year to maximise the amount of interest gained. That way, I don't have to invest as much to hit my goal.

Something I'm going to start monitoring is the HBD requirement to be in the top 500. Currently it's 779, but I'm seeing it increasing rapidly as more people get switched on to just how awesome HBD is. I may abandon my hope of being thoroughly in the top 500, it might become too much of a distraction from other savings goals.

LEO

Of the 140.149 gain last week, 11.082 was earnings from delegation, curation and author rewards. The other 129.067 was bought; I wanted to make sure I had enough for LPUD tomorrow !

I do have a question that I don't know the answer to; out of delegating HP, delegating LEO and buying LEO miner tokens, which one generates the most LEO for the investment ?

EDS

These are trogging along quite nicely. I'm currently on target, but if it looks like slipping I'll get myself some more EDSMM's.

SBI

Failing on this one ! It's one which I have some direct influence over, so I'm going to do a new thing within SaturdaySavers.

Each week, on Sunday I'll pick whichever SaturdaySavers post I like best from the previous day (so yes, I admit it's totally subjective, but I'll try to spread it around fairly !).

Whoever it is, I will get them One SBI.

It's a win-win, because it helps me towards my goal, and SBI's pay out rewards to both the buyer and receiver.

Posts in Month

I've managed 11 posts so far, which by my standards is pretty good and on target for 22 in the month. I'm noticing a distinct trend where I find it easier to write posts at the weekend, and by about Thursday each week, the stresses of real life tend to kill the creativity in me for a couple of days. Not much I can do about it but at the same time if I recognise it, it might help know when I'm at my most creative and focus on writing then.
