This is my first post in the Leo Finance frontend. I have been wanting to be a part of the Leo community since day one. I quickly realized that I was unable to be a part of this community due to two things: 1. not having the funds to invest in Hive 2. not understanding crypto and the overall financial side of things.

Fast forward to today and I can proudly say that I have now invested a small, but nice amount of income into the Hive community and I understand crypto in ways that I would have never thought possible. That being said, I am no big investor and I'm also no crypto expert, by any means. In due time. In due time.

In the very near future, I will be investing more fiat here and then again before end of summer. Right now, I have been focusing my attention on #pob and I will also be focusing on #leo. There's additional tokens, both on this blockchain and others, that I have my eye on as well.

Why am I posting here now?

Today is Powerup Day

what better time?

This isn't my go-to content of poetry, it is about finances, Hive, and crypto, so why not take this opportunity to finally stick my head in the door that I've been wanting to walk through since the first time I saw that lion faced logo.

These past few days I have been moving some tokens around from here to there (and then there to here again, since I am still learning how to do all of this and flying by the skin of my ass, mistakes and all) so that I could power-up a bit of Hive to include myself in #powerupday - #hivepud. I will also be staking Leo and POB.

I have worked very, and I mean very hard to educate myself far and beyond mere blogging here on Hive. I wanted to know everything. It overwhelmed me at some points. Even scared me to run off, yet I kept coming back again. It's safe to say that I have a personality trait of jumping in too deep too fast.

When I was approximately 7 years old, my class went on a "trip" to the local pool. There, the life guard asked all the kids who knew how to swim to line up away from the other children. I did not know how to swim, but I shuffled my overly confident self over to the swimmer line up... at the very front of the line. I don't think that I was aware that the life guard was going to tell us to dive into the pool and swim from one side to the other.

You must be thinking that when told to dive in and display my swim skills that I turned around and re-joined the non-swimmers, right? You'd think that... but I didn't do that.

When the life guard told me, the first in line, to jump into the water and swim from one side to the other, I jumped into that water and tried to swim. My eyes burned and I choked on chlorine for a few seconds before the lifeguard "saved" me.

I was 7 years old when I dove into the deep end thinking that I could pull off something that I knew that I could not. I am 41 years old and I still keep doing what 7 year old me so bravely/stupidly tried.

When found my way to the blockchain planet years ago, I started pulling the 'dive in too deep' stunt that I'm so well known for. Because of that, I went through waves of love hate, running away and back. I believe it is safe to say that I have overcome those hurdles (or, waves?) and now understand enough that I know I don't know everything and not to try to know everything in a week. Baby steps.... toe in the water first and so on, so forth.

After all my hard work, and a lot of help from many amazing people (you know who you are <3) I'm here and I'm here to stay. And now I present to you my staking for Powerup Day:

I know that this is only a small amount. I am planning on staking POB and Leo later tonight, which is why so little Hive. I want to spread the love.

I look forward to many more days, weeks and months here. I see such great value in Hive and all the bits and parts of the blockchain. There's no question in my mind of the amazing things that are in the future.

Thank you for reading my post.
