I am aware that self voting is frowned upon. I’ve never been compelled to self vote, even since day one. To me, it just didn’t feel right.

but…

My vote value has gone up in regards to pob. Not dramatically, but value is beginning to show.

presence…

I have multiple accounts. I use @hivebeliever to produce informative posts for the community and curate. @beingana is supposed to be for #actifit and fitness posts, but I rarely use that account properly because fitness is constantly being put on the back burner. Then of course, there’s this account @anaclark, that I use actively.

so why self vote now?

It may at first seem like a selfish act, but it isn’t. That being said, self does play a part, but not so much.

I’ve spent years (on and off) tending to my Hive account to bulk up my vote value. Thanks to Proof of Brain, my attempts and hard work has been paying off.

Now that my vote is worth is a small, tangible value, I have the ability to take control of my own goals. I still rely on the community; we all do in one form or another, but now, I can be a part of my own growth.

what does this have to do with others?

Everything! This has everything to do with others. See, the faster and larger my vote power grows, the bigger and better my vote will be for others in the community.

My measly vote isn’t going to pivot my personal post rewards into another realm. It really isn’t going to put funds in my pocket. When the time comes that my vote does have enough power to put income pocket, I’ll have stopped self voting long since. This is only a temporary strategy to work on bulking my vote power up a bit faster so that when I vote for other community members the vote will provide them a little boost (especially for new members).

additionally…

➕ I’m also working on getting @hivebeliever on its feet. I invested a little more than $400 fiat into that account and it really isn’t doing shit all. $400 isn’t a ton of money, but I really thought that I’d see some kind of revenue by now.

Rapidly, I learned that comprehension of some Hive mechanics had escaped me. Slapping a few hundred dollars into a new account doesn’t cause that account to produce ROI. Alternatively, if I’d invested $400 into this account, I would have seen measurable change.

What a I learned was that vote value is not merely based on Hive Power. I also started paying attention to curation rewards- turns out that they aren’t nearly as great as assumed (not for a new account of low value).

I have a current new post by @hivebeliever that had about 3 pob in votes. I self voted and brought it up to 4 pob. Not much at all. Hardly worth talking about. Growing an account takes time, consistency, and hard work. There’s points where shifts happen, that bring to light viable changes. During those shifts, leveraging and pushing is necessary to keep the momentum and prevent rolling backwards.

I’m not going to sit around and wait for Hive Believer to be noticed. That’s my money. My fiat money. I’m going to do everything in my power to grow my baby as quickly as possible.

That doesn’t mean that I’m going to self vote shit posts to feed my pockets and ego. No! Hive Believer posts are quality content and deserve the attention from this account. In fact, if someone else wrote those articles I would vote them as well. I have no shame in knowing my worth and value. I also have no shame in putting my success in my hands and applying every strategy that I know.

Ultimately, Hive Believer (and all my accounts) add value to Hive, the communities that the accounts are active in, and fellow Hivian Hivers. So plans, strategies, and hard work is not (completely) selfish.

Anyone who feels the need to cease voting me because I’m wise enough to know when to be the master of my sea, well I don’t even know what to say to that. It’s just silly!

and there you have it…

There you have the reason that I’m going to start self voting; to become a bigger, better, supporter of Hive and all its lovely humans. 🤍🌹🤍
