5G technology saves lives "

Both Honda and Verizon are teaming up to prevent accidents and save lives on the streets and roads using high-speed 5G cellular technology.

How can this be done ?

The two companies in question work with the University of Michigan, using Mcity, a university space that tests cars connected to the internet and autonomous vehicles, and together they intend to improve communication between vehicles to send alerts to drivers.

Mcity, for its part, explores the use of 5G in the environment, communicating with the network of on-board computers in cars, and the strip then allows rapid communication between the infrastructure of roads, vehicles and pedestrians.

Through the project announced by the video, we can see that a pedestrian is passing in a place where the driver cannot see, because of a construction, and the cameras present in the place send the person's presence signal to the vehicle and the notification appears in the car dashboard, in a few seconds communication between the three points.

The test done with an ambulance shows that the 5G of the rescue vehicle sends an alert to the other cars that are approaching, avoiding collisions at intersections.

In the third experiment, a car punctures a red light and through intelligent cameras on the road, the vehicle is detected and a message is sent to anyone arriving at the intersection, thus avoiding a collision.

This system is a good sign, but it is still in the testing phase, but as we can see, this 5G technology has great potential to save lives.
