What's up with Thorchain lately?

So you want to know what's going on with Thorchain but you don't have the time to browse endlessly trying to filter the crap from the good stuff? Well, here's a short brief of some of the most important happenings on Thorchain over the past month.

This is definitely not a substitute to doing your own research but it can definitely point you to the topics that should be researched if you are looking to buy into $RUNE / become part of the Thorchain Ecosystem.

Thorchain listing on Rango

Thorchain got listed on Rango Exchange. Rango is a Multichain Dex/Bridge Aggregator that supports 40 blockchains at the moment of writing this. This is huge for the already widely adopted RUNE and it will compete with the main chains on Rango to see which one brings more value to the Rango aggregator.

Avalanche integration

Avalanche is almost integrated to Thorchain, according to the thorchain gitlab there might be a few delays but this is happening. This integration means that thorchain can now handle Avax trades between all the already supported chains.

Fintech incubation

THOR Wallet DEX has been accepted into the University of Oxford Fintech Incubator program by Creative Destruction Lab whose mission is to transform science projects into massively scalable products & services that benefit humankind.

Thanks to this program, THORWallet DEX will gain access to mentorship and opportunities to raise capital from world-class entrepreneurs, angel investors, and venture capital firms. THORWallet DEX will work with these mentors periodically to define objectives, prioritize resources, raise capital, and engage with experts working on the frontiers of research.

Haven Protocol integration

Right after the Avalanche integration is done, Thorchain node operators have to decide if they continue their work towards integrating BSC or HAVEN.

The drama continues between Thorchain and Haven protocol. Twenty days ago the Haven protocol team released this heartfelt statement after several discord talks and as of Sep 2, the node operators decided to go for BSC integration instead of HAVEN, but this is not the end of the story, once Haven is launched on Stagenet, there is a final vote for it to go live onto mainnet (requires 2/3 node approval). We are still yet to see what happens when the node operators have to give a final vote on this, but it could take months for this because 9R will probably start working on BSC. The gameplan is for Haven to go to Stagenet when ready, then mainnet once tested & mimir consensus reached.
