This disaster only leaves us to say that we do not live, nor do we subsist, but we survive. Talking about this subject is a bit stressful but it serves to drain the negative energy.

Este desastre no nos deja más que decir que no vivimos, ni subsistimos sino que sobrevivimos. Hablar de este tema es un poco estresante pero sirve para drenar la energía negativa.

At the beginning of this debacle, like in 2016 or so...

The depression undermined my life, I felt like I was going crazy; with several problems. Already retired, only my husband was working, with one son studying high school and the other with a family formed and living at home. The months old grandson wearing cloth diapers and feeding him food without being old enough to do so: there was simply no other way.

All or most of the inhabitants of this country at that time ate arepa made of anything but corn and coffee was sweetened with papelón. Washing clothes with detergent was not possible and had to be half washed with any cheap detergent. Yucca arepas became famous.

La depresión estaba menoscabando mi vida, sentía que me estaba volviendo loca; con problemas diversos. Ya jubilada, solamente trabajaba mi esposo, con un hijo estudiando bachillerato y el otro con una familia formada y viviendo en casa. el nieto de meses usando pañales de tela y alimentándolo con alimentos sin tener la edad para hacerlo: simplemente no había de otra. How did I manage to recover?

I came back in the middle of the year, around July, with a different attitude and took over my household until then. Alimony started to appear and the situation was half settled. My oldest son went to live with his mother-in-law, leaving me alone in the house because my husband went to work in another city (Margarita, Nueva Esparta State) and my youngest son stayed with his aunt and uncle in Guatire, Miranda State.

Mi hijo mayor se fue a vivir con la suegra, quedando sola en la casa porque mi esposo se fue a trabajar a otra ciudad (Margarita- Estado Nueva Esparta) y mi hijo menor se quedó con los tíos en Guatire, Estado Miranda.

Last year in October I started to collect the pension of 1200 bs, which does not reach one dollar and a bread flour costs between 1500000 bs and 19000000 bs, rounding it off is $1.00; that is, if my husband does not work we do not eat because he is the one who contributes the most to the cause. What I do in HIVE serves as a complement but there are many Venezuelans who pay for a plate of food with what they earn in HIVE.

El año pasado por el mes de octubre comencé a cobrar la pensión de 1200 bs que no llega a un dólar y una harina pan cuesta 1$; o sea que si mi esposo no trabaja no comemos porque es el que aporta más a la causa. Lo que hago en Hive sirve de complemento pero son muchos los venezolanos que resuelven el plato de comida con lo que se gana en HIVE

La cirsis país aunada a la pandemia, además de un poquito locos, nos volvió creativos y aunque el término esté trillado, tuvimos que reinventarnos para superadministrar los recursos. Pero al mismo tiempo, me parece que la corrupción se convirtió en una onda expansiva desde todo punto de vista. Todos quieren sacar extrema ganancia de las actividades económicas que realizan para poder mantener los negocios al día y en este caso me refiero a los pequeños comerciantes. Además de otras acciones que no viene al caso mencionar.
