Hello good evening beloved in Christ, I hope by the power of the almighty God, we are strong like fiddle. Indeed if there have ever be a time we needed the lord before, we sure we need him now. Tonight I want us to reflect on the story of Uriah the Hittite. I know this is not the very first time of hearing of this name or story, because always the word of God is new just as His love in the morning. The meaning of his name(My light is Yaweh) There was something so special about this man that if we are able to apply in our daily lives, it will surely help us especially in our decision making. If we are to make a critical analogy today, Uriah wasn't born as a Christian but converted and dedicated himself to the service of God through maybe evangelism or personal encounter with Jesus. This man have great character traits that needs to be talked about. Well I don't want to go back to what David did, well to some of us who might forget this Man(Uriah).. Bathsheba's husband.

David had gotten his wife pregnant and wanted every possible means to cover his Sins. David instructed Uriah to return home from the war front, so He can Go to his wife and lie with her.
now let's read from #2samuel 11.

David presented him the opportunity to return home but this is where my point is. #not ALL opportunities are Meant to be Taken

David knowing what he has done wanted to cover His sins so Uriah won't know anything about the pregnancy. But the chapter continues to read: But Uriah slept at the entrance to the palace with all his master’s servants and did not go down to his house. David was told, “Uriah did not go home.” So he asked Uriah, “Haven’t you just come from a military campaign? Why didn’t you go home?” Uriah said to David, “The ark and Israel and Judah are staying in tents, and my commander Joab and my lord’s men are camped in the open country. How could I go to my house to eat and drink and make love to my wife? As surely as you live, I will not do such a thing

Uriah Kept is integrity and his Loyalty. Of all the opportunities presented to him, He remembered His brother at the war front. That He can't enjoy his life whiles others suffer at the war front. He denied the pleasures and decided to die with His brothers.
Someone who was a Gentile showed up this attitude. The question we need to ask ourselves is How many of us here can turn down opportunities like this all in the name of our friends, brothers or probably strangers. This is what Jesus want us to exhibit, we are to deny ourselves and put on the whole armor of God. Is better to die for Christ than to die for self.

The sad part of the story of which is another lesson for our Christian life is How Uriah died. Surely that will continue tomorrow God willing.

We must holdfast our integrity even if Heavens falls. This in so doing will make God known in an Unknown place. Just as Daniel in His time did.

May God help us to hold onto the truth no matter.❤️
