Glass Half-Full or Half-Empty?

It's a bit cliche, isn't it? We all know the story of optimist and pessimist, yeah it has been told too many times. What I like to discuss today is about VC (Venture Capital). Here is the basic definition:

Venture capital (VC) is a form of private equity and a type of financing that investors provide to startup companies and small businesses that are believed to have long-term growth potential. Venture capital generally comes from well-off investors, investment banks, and any other financial institutions.

Many people asked me over the years about my reasoning to be invested in Hive and all associated projects. The reason is simple, and I have seen Hive as a VC project. So all projects that are built on Hive are also VC projects. I have participated in VC projects before in real life and the risks are high. The loss potential = Total. But the rewards are high too, if successful. But the main trouble is the threshold money. For most common people it is beyond reach.

What a lot of people here on Hive do not realize that this is an opportunity for them to participate in a VC with little or no investment. Obviously higher the investment, higher the reward. That brings me back to the glass full story. In VC, the way I see it:

The glass is ALWAYS 100% FULL!

That is the mindset, that is required in a successful VC investment. Although only 1 in 1000 projects becomes a success in VC, as one invest in a project, the expection must be 100%.

De-Fi and CUB

As we all know that CUB Finance is a Leo project. Therefore, when I invested in CUB, I had the same 100% mindset. I am 100% certain that the project will be successful. It's been a little more than a week for CUB, and from my point of view the price is holding nicely.

I have the relevant events plotted on the chart and I continue to look at $3.5 level. Post airdrop, the price rallied from 3.5 to $6. That is almost 2X. That was during the Emission 1 period of 3 Cubs/block. Now the reward is 2 Cubs/block. In 5 days time, it will be 1 Cub/block. So, the question is how do I personally position myself. There are 3 alternatives:

  1. Price Rallies : If that happens, 2X - 4X, whatever the number is; as we near the end of emission 2, staking CUB in the Den is a more bullish stance. Because, whatever CUB you have won't be taken away from you, but if you stay in CUB-BUSD LP, and the price rallies 2X; by design, some of your CUBs will be converted to BUSD automatically, and you will have less CUB compared to now.

  2. Price Drops: If that happens, CUB-BUSD pool is a better choice, even after the end of emission 1. This is simply because of higher return, and a drop of price means more BUSD will be converted to CUB, so your CUB holding will be higher, and you will be ready for a potential future rally with higher number of token. Provided, you can manage to keep your higher number of tokens of course!

  3. Price Sideways : No relative impact between the pools, but CUB-BUSD pool will continue to perform better because of higher rewards.

When Bottom?

No Idea! I do not call top or bottoms. Over many years, I have learned that it is not only difficult, but also a bit stupid. There are people who called the bottom early, position themselves accordingly, and got burned. Same goes with calling the top. You make your own calls. I currently have position in both the CUB-BUSD farm and the CUB Den!
