Chaos Strategies

After I wrote this heading, I suddenly realize that by definition "Chaos" is counterproductive to any strategies! Yet I must formulate some. There is the next round of pre-sale imminent starting in 6 days time on December 8th. The details are described in this post below:

There is a surprise here for me. Looks like now we are going to me using 'credits' for the purchase.

Starting with the second pack sale phase on December 8th and going forward, Chaos Legion packs will only be able to be purchased using Credits in the Splinterlands shop.

This is different from the first round of pre-sale, where we used SPS to purchase the packs. There were some issues with 'price' standardization of SPS and I understand and appreciate that. What is does, it opens the door for affiliate discount. For those who doesn't know this, Splinterlands have always honored affiliated account discount. While I don't mind this, but this drives people to create 'alt' accounts to get the affiliated discount, and generate a level of complexity for no good reason. I don't have a strong feeling about it, but it would be nice, if we didn't have to go through it.

Current Status

At the end of first round of pre-sale I ended up with 4125 CL packs. During the recent rally of hive prices, I did purchase quite a lot of credit (about 4M). This turns out to be much less than some of the others have purchased. I was primarily purchasing the credits for potion purchase. As it requires 20K Legendary and 20K Alchemy Potions to open 4K CL packs. I currently have them.

Above is my recent hive transfers to SL to purchase the credits. However, this is before the latest annoucement on credit. Trouble is now, that I should be purchasing the cards on an affiliated account to qualify for the discount. Since credits are no transferrable, this generates an issue. Although I am hearing from the game-makers that they will consider returning the credit, but this just creates a cumbersome process.

I will buy cards at the second round of pre-sale as well, because I still have 600K SPS staked and that will award be free vouchers, which I will be using in full. But that still leaves me with a deliema on how many packs shall I buy from the general sale and using which method. I am a bit unclear on this at the moment.

What this latest announcement did, is probably added a bit of selling pressure to SPS token. People need incentive to stake SPS, and so far there was decent incentive. It is critical to continue to have incentive to keep staking SPS. I urge the game-developers to give us some clarity on this. Economy of the governance token is critical, and so far the game-makers have done wonderful job in managing that. We just need some tangible additional incentives to hold and stake SPS, that's all.
