Can blogging be a good source of income?
I have been into content writing and blogging for more than 15 years now. I started with content writing as a freelance job and then switched to blogging. I write random things and have never been able to write in a structured manner. But thankfully even random blogging has helped my career to earn some penny out of it.
It all started with content writing. I used to do jobs that require writing articles on the same topic again and again for SEO and keywords. They used to give me the keyword "Camera" and I will have to write 50 articles on Camera this week and another 50 articles on camera next week. The funny thing is, that's how I spoiled my wring skills. Even today when reading the articles I write every day, I'm able to see the effect of those repeated writings and exhaustive writings. I admit that my articles are not of the best quality today but I'm sure I can write better quality articles which I have done in the past and even do it now and then.
Blockchain blogging
Blockchain has been giving us many use cases and I entered into the blockchain world only after looking for an opportunity to write articles and earn from them. That's how I started my career on Steem Hive years back. Today I maintain the consistency of writing at least a minimum of one article per day. In the last few years, I have realized that blogging can definitely be a good source of income if we have three things with us.
- Consistency
- Persistence
- Determination
I always say in my articles that if we have the above 3, we will be able to do anything we want in this beautiful world of opportunities, not just blogging. But for blogging or content writing the above 3 things are very important.
Consistency is important because if we are not consistent the world will easily forget us and our friends who are curating us regularly will also move on. If we come back after a month or two, we will not have a good fanbase. Everyone expects a FOMO in this world. Only if we are consistent, our faces will be remembered well. This is just my humble thought. Engaging with the audience is also very important in my opinion. The audience always would like to share their opinion. We have to value their opinion only by engaging with them.
Persistance is important because most of the time the articles we write will not give us any rewards. That's when we might get frustrated for doing anything. We have to stay strong and be persistent and keep doing what we are good at doing. Rewards are a good motivation but at the same time being persistent will teach us many things and will also make blogging a good routine for us. Sometimes we might even think that we are not good bloggers and feel like not being persistent. Only by regular practice, any skill would develop inside us. So I personally think Persistence is a good thing to have when it comes to blogging.
Determination is important because whatever task we do if we do it with determination the results will be overwhelming. If we are not earning any good money here, at least we learn new things and gain some good friends from here. So Determination is very important. Setting goals and trying to achieve them is also good. That also helps in being determined towards our intentions.
Blogging as a source of income
For many people blogging has been a good source of income. Not just from blockchain but they have been able to make a good income by blogging regularly on their personal sites or personal blogs. In the blockchain world, there are a few sites that give us a good opportunity to earn a decent amount of money for blogging. We can even choose our niche and contribute based on that. Below are some of the sites that are a good source of income for the bloggers:

There are also sites like Leofinance, Proofofbrain, CTP talk, StemGeeks, Cine TV, etc. that are a subset of Hive blockchain. Most of them were created for a unique niche the users would like to blog about. People can easily fit themselves in their area of interest and start their blogging careers. I wouldn't guarantee a great source of income as soon as they start but I'm sure if they have the three qualities I mentioned above, they will have good growth and recognition on these platforms.
