Mannabase was a project that was created about 4 years ago. If I vaguely remember, when I was hunting for airdrops and giveaways, I came to know about Manna coin. The basic idea of Manna was to give Universal basic income to every individual. It started off really well. I signed up and started getting some coins for free. I used to collect them regularly back then. I did not know what value it would be creating or the overall concept of giving Universal basic income would succeed.

I was actually happy because back then the price per coin was also pretty decent. I remember having a balance of about 5$ worth of tokens or something. I don't remember exactly. There were no exchanges or other utilities available back then to claim the manna token or to make use of them in the real world. It was yet another coin that was trying to survive back then.

I literally forgot about that project. I think a few years back someone in Indiaunited also talked about this project and otherwise I don't even remember anything about this project until I received an email from the team saying that they are introducing Manna 2.0 and they are also providing the option to claim our old Manna 1.0 tokens as well. I was glad that the old efforts to get the airdrop did not go waste. Even though I might have not had much something is better than nothing right. I wanted to explore Manna 2.0 and claim my Manna 1.0 tokens.

Claiming Manna 1.0 tokens

They have documentation in place where they are explaining how the Manna 1.0 tokens can be claimed from them if we remember the email address with which we signed up. The documentation talked about creating a BrightID wallet and linking it with Metamask. I came to know that BrightID was another clone of ETH if I'm not wrong. The metamask was able to automatically detect the wallet and connect accordingly. I thought I was done but the process was a little more complicated.

I had to download BrightID add on my mobile device and connect with Manna base. Trust me it was not the best experience one could get. BrightID is something to do with identity verification. I did not try to understand how it works in detail but from the looks of it, I did not like the idea. They want to go on a call with some random people with video and connect with the organizer. That's how we get verified. The organizer will call our names and we have to respond over the call with the video switched on. But one good thing is that we don't have to share any of our personal details apart from this verification.

After this part is done, we have to scan the QR code and link Mannabase and the BrightID app together. I initially had problems with that and got it sorted in the last few days. After that, I was able to see the claim button visible and I did claim and received 79 Manna tokens.

Manna 2.0

They also have an option to claim Manna every day. It is more like a daily faucet kind of thing. They want us to do some more verification in the BrightID app and I didn't do it. I don't know what other plans they have for Manna 2.0. But as of now, I was able to see the Manna balance in my wallet. I hope they come up with some exciting stuff and the manna token value increases so that I can sell my holdings off. With the experience, I have had so far and from the fact that they are using some new blockchain called BrightID, I didn't want to explore this further at this point. Maybe I will do the exploration later.

Do you also know about this project and have you claimed your tokens? How was your experience with Manna?
