  1. Ned sold Steemit Inc to Justin Sun (Founder of Tron).
  2. Justin made his first announcement about this acquisition.
  3. Softfork 222 happened.
  4. Somewhere in the middle, Justin thought he bought not just Steemit Inc but Steem itself (The whole Steem Community).
  5. Justin sends a open letter to talk to the community.
  6. Exchanges "Binance", "Huobi" and "Poloniex" powered up customer tokens to vote for 20 fake witnesses on Steem. Justin got back Steemit Inc's stake and upvoted 20 fake witnesses even further and took complete control over the Blockchain.
  7. This triggered a bad leadership opinion about Justin among the community members as many people couldn't withdraw their funds out of the above 3 exchanges anymore. A war started between Justin Sun and the community.
  8. JS abused the witnesses and community with F words and also called them hackers. He then realizes he should have not abused the community and tries to edit the post. Unfortunately, as this is a blockchain the original post stays forever in the blockchain.
  9. The post poured more oil to the revolution that already started against Justin Sun.
  10. The revolution brought 10 of the former witnesses back to the top 20 positions based on the community votes preventing any further hard forks.
  11. Lots of pressure were created on Twitter and other social media platforms about this centralization and takeover.
  12. Justin then talks about safeguarding the assets he bought from Ned. He mentions that all he wanted to do was to safeguard his assets and investment.
  13. Justin then insists on a 3-day power-down without understanding the consequences having no idea how this blockchain works. This move was likely to get the power of the exchange down and get out of legal issues if any.
  14. Community-created memes and showed resistance against this governance and centralization.
  15. Justin removed delegations from all the DApps.
  16. A group of 30+ people was formed and initial discussions started about forking out of Steem to a new blockchain.
  17. @blocktrades made a post providing informal announcement on the new chain and explaining why he won't be compromising with Justin Sun.
  18. FOMO started and people were interested. Blocktrades informed that there will be a formal announcement made soon.
  19. The new name for the Blockchain was released in one of the comments in Blocktrades's post. He mentioned that it will be named as Hive.
  20. A new discord server was created and the discussion was open with the whole community. People started jumping in and all the questions and confusion were clarified there.
  21. An official announcement was made about Hive Blockchain with details about Hive.io and Hive.blog.
  22. Many DApps and big stakeholders showed their support and mentioned that they were moving.
  23. Some people were still confused about whether to move or not to move.
  24. Some people decided to stay and contribute both to Steem as well as Hive.
  25. The announcement came from Binance and other exchanges about their support for the new Hive Blockchain and listing Hive and HBD.
  26. Steem price pumped over 220 percent to reach a maximum of 8000 Satoshi yesterday and a value of 42 cents.
  27. Justin Sun censored all the Hive related posts from Steemit Inc.
  28. After the censorship, many people who had a dilemma about staying on both decided to move to Hive Blockchain.
  29. @theycallmedan was one of the key people fighting against centralization on social media platforms. He made him announcement asking everyone to get ready for Hive.
  30. Now it looks like over 80 percent of the community is moving to Hive from Steem.

I hope I tried to cover almost everything just a summary. Do let me know in the comments if I missed something. I can probably edit this post and add it as well. I guess this post will be very helpful for people who were long gone from Steem and back to Steem because of the pump in price and has a FOMO.

After all the above events, we are now highly excited about the launch of the new platform. A few more hours to go before the official launch. I guess this is definitely going to be one of the biggest events in the history of Blockchain where a community is fighting for their freedom.
