Travel the World of Postage Stamps - 120th Anniversary of Moscow Zoo - Mandrill (Mandrillus sphinx) - USSR, Soviet Union 1984 - Michel USSR 5356 - my hobby.

Greetings friends!

For many countries, zoos are becoming visiting cards and a source of considerable financial inflow from tourists and international organizations concerned with the preservation of certain species of animals.

The Moscow Zoo was such a gold mine at all times and even, during the Soviet era, when an engineer received 130 rubles of salary and could not afford exotic fruits, animals in the zoo did not live in poverty and received a full diet to which they were accustomed to living in distant, tropical countries ...

I propose to visit the 120th anniversary of the Moscow Zoo, our pass to this event is a Series 120th Anniversary of Moscow Zoo of postage stamps, issued in 1984 in the USSR.

The first postage stamp in this series is a postage stamp with a face value of 2 kopecks of the USSR, which depicts a very colorful representative of the order of primates - Mandrill (Mandrillus sphinx).

This postage stamp is very colorful and undoubtedly attracted the attention of many philatelists.

Its current price is not very high in view of the huge circulation of 8,300,000 copies.

In my collection, so far, there is a canceled version of this series, but, over time, I will replace canceled postage stamps with clean ones, I hope so.

Let's take a look at this postage stamp.

For my publications, I do not use stock photographs, it is fundamentally important for me to use photographs that I have made with my own hands for publication and I can name them - authorial work.
