Travel the World of Postage Stamps - 120th Anniversary of Moscow Zoo - Snow Leopard (Panthera uncia) - USSR, Soviet Union 1984 - Michel USSR 5358 - my hobby.

Greetings friends!

The distant 1984 and a series of postage stamps 120th Anniversary of Moscow Zoo, issued in the USSR, allowed us to walk around the Moscow Zoo and celebrate its anniversary.

We will not talk about politics, because someone might say that zoos and animals are out of politics, but this is not entirely true.

Any show, any show, is a branch of ancient Roman wisdom: "Give the people bread and circuses."

Even in difficult times, there must be something that will distract people from the pressing problems and give them an injection of joy.

Zoos were part of such a "pedic" program, lol, salvation from depression and suppression of revolutionary thoughts.

On the next postage stamp from this series, we see the representative of the cat family - Snow Leopard (Panthera uncia).

Snow Leopard (Panthera uncia), this is a unique animal, or rather, it is a unique cat, whose lifestyle is at odds with the lifestyle of other cats.

Any cat is looking for comfort and is ready to climb on your head when you sleep, but, most importantly, it should be warm and comfortable.

Snow Leopard, have chosen for their life mountain, snow-covered slopes, where it is cold and under the soft pads of the paws, there are sharp and cold stones.

But, perhaps, mountain peaks are those rare places where a wild cat can meet a mountain ram and feast on it.

In warm lowlands, as a rule, rams turned into humans, who exterminated populations of rams and other animals that could become part of the Snow Leopard food chain.

The postage stamp received a face value of 4 kopecks of the USSR and a circulation of 7,700,000 copies.

For my publications, I do not use stock photographs, it is fundamentally important for me to use photographs that I have made with my own hands for publication and I can name them - authorial work.
