Today we will see another postage stamp from a series Dogs: (III) 1978 issued in 1978 in Equatorial Guinea.
This postage stamp features Wirehaired Dachshund (Canis lupus familiaris).
Just looking at the photograph it is difficult to understand that this is a dachshund, and not another breed of dog, or a mongrel.
On the dog's face, we see yellow spots, the same color as the yellow border of the postage stamp.
It is difficult to imagine that such was the creative intention.
Perhaps the printing press was poorly tuned and paint splattered in different directions.
I have compared the postage stamp from my collection with the postage stamps of other collectors and this difference is the same on all postage stamps on 8 Equatorial Guinean ekuele.
As I said, the incumbent president at that time was opposed to everything connected with Europe and America, but, apparently, money was not alien to him and he used images of dogs popular in the world at that time to print postage stamps.
You may have noticed that the format of the photographs is not the same as usual when I post photographs of postage stamps.
The fact is that the entire series of postage stamps Dogs: (III) 1978, of eight postage stamps, is linked together in one block, and in order to focus on a single postage stamp, I have to cut off all unnecessary things.
