Travel the World of Postage Stamps - Falcons - Eurasian Hobby (Falco subbuteo) - Poland 1975 - Michel's Poland 2358 - my hobby.

Greetings friends!

My grandfather was an avid hunter and from early childhood I already knew how to weigh gunpowder and shot for completing supplies.

I have always liked weapons, of which there were many in our house.

Today, hunting is a very expensive hobby, in view of the high cost of ammunition and licenses, and, probably, one day, when we tighten the screws in full, we will need to think about how to get ourselves a feathered hunter friend. who can hunt without restrictions.

Of course, a quail, or a partridge, can become its prey, at most. This assistant in the hunt can be Eurasian Hobby (Falco subbuteo), which we see on a postage stamp from the Sokoly series of postage stamps, issued in the Poland in 1975.

Look at the magnificent coloration of this bird, it looks like the tails of an ermine that adorn the robes of kings.

This bird lives in Europe and in the northern part of the African continent, but you cannot hunt a crocodile and an elephant with this bird, you will need a fourth caliber with a shot charge of up to 100 grams and a recoil force of 16 kilograms, capable of pulling out the collarbone if do not use a tripod.

Let's take a look at this postage stamp.
