Greetings friends!

*Today we will see the last postage stamp from the Fauna of USSR series, issued in 1975 in the USSR.

*Both birds and animals can be seen in this series. But, the world of animals that lived and live within the boundaries of this, now non-existent country, is greater than it is presented within the framework of this series.

*It is difficult for me to say why, this particular part of the animals was included in this series, and why, other animals did not fall into it.

*But, everything has its own meaning, although it may be hidden from us.

*On a postage stamp with a denomination of 16 kopecks of the USSR, we will see European Badger (Meles meles).

*This animal is the size of an English Bulldog, maybe a little smaller, a very strong skeleton and a very dense skin.

*Like bears, badgers hibernate and spend in their burrows until spring.

*I wanted to illustrate this and the best I could do was portray a badger that, after a long hibernation, leaves its hole.

*I wonder how he will know about the arrival of winter?

*Does he hear the spring drops?

*Probably, he begins to experience a terrible feeling of hunger, because, by the coming of winter, he completely burns the accumulated fat that has fed him all this time.

*Fat makes him strong, but, ironically, this fat becomes the enemy of the badger, because, hunters, are interested in badgers, only because of this, valuable fat, which I am a panacea for many diseases.

*My friend, my enemy, as in a science fiction film, where an earthling and an alien, found themselves on an uninhabited planet after the disaster of their space fighters, the fat for a badger.

*Personally, to me, this series of postage stamps and this postage stamp seem too gloomy.

*It seems that someone wanted to save money on bright colors, but this is not for everybody.

I edited a photo in the program PhotoDirector, which I also installed on my smartphone. For my publications, I do not use stock photographs, it is fundamentally important for me to use photographs that I have made with my own hands for publication and I can name them - authorial work.
