Travel the World of Postage Stamps - Insects of Cuba - Cricket (Odontocera josemartii) - Cuba 1980 - Michel Cuba 2449 - my hobby
Greetings friends!
*Sometimes, postage stamps can give you an unsolved puzzle that you can try to piece together like jigsaw puzzles or crossford.
*As you remember, we continue to complete a series of postage stamps called Insects of Cuba, issued on the island of Cuba in 1980 and on a postage stamp with a face value of 5 Cuban centavos, we see an insect called Cricket (Odontocera josemartii).
*It bears little resemblance to the crickets that live in Ukraine, but the hind legs of this insect, most likely, are designed for jumping.
*Apparently, this cricket is not a relative of real crickets, which have a completely different body structure, but I could be wrong.
*It seems that the artist who painted this cricket stole its head from a firefighter beetle lol.
*This insect made me look up various sources, but unfortunately I could not find its description, lifestyle and food preferences.
*It remained a mystery to me whether this insect is a pest, or it eats other insects that harm agriculture.
*Wikipedia is silent, searching for an English name and a name in Latin leads to a dead end, but, interestingly, this is an open road to new knowledge.
*If you have information about this insect, I will be glad to see your comment on this, or, any, my post, so that I could vote for it.

I edited a photo in the program PhotoDirector, which I also installed on my smartphone. For my publications, I do not use stock photographs, it is fundamentally important for me to use photographs that I have made with my own hands for publication and I can name them - authorial work.
