Travel the World of Postage Stamps - Nature Reserves of the USSR - Water Birds - Black-throated Loon (Gavia arctica) - USSR, Soviet Union 1976 - Michel USSR 4507 - my hobby.

Greetings friends!

Today we will embark on a journey that looks more like an expedition than an exhilarating cruise.

We will visit nature reserves and observe bird life.

Who knows, maybe one day, postage stamps will become one of the few reminders to us that there were certain types of birds on our planet.

A series of postage stamps Nature Reserves of the USSR - Water Birds, issued in 1976 in the USSR, will show us waterfowl and birds that live near water bodies and their food supply is directly dependent on the population of the inhabitants of these water bodies.

It is admitted that some seabirds that nest from year to year, on one piece of land, prefer herring or other fish as food, but. due to changes in the temperatures of water currents and the seas themselves, fish can change their migration routes, which means that birds can disappear in this region.

In my collection there is no first and last postage stamp from this series, according to the Mikhel catalog, and we will start with a postage stamp with a face value of 3 kopecks of the USSR - Black-throated Loon (Gavia arctica).

This bird has chosen the northern seas, all continents.

This is an excellent angler and swimmer who is able to swallow rather large fish.

Birds arrange massive nests and I call them northern, half-brothers of penguins, because, penguins, love the southern hemisphere for themselves, but they are not relatives).

Let's take a look at this postage stamp.

For my publications, I do not use stock photographs, it is fundamentally important for me to use photographs that I have made with my own hands for publication and I can name them - authorial work.
