Travel the World of Postage Stamps - Nature Reserves of the USSR - Water Birds - Eurasian Coot (Fulica atra) - USSR, Soviet Union 1976 - Michel USSR 4508 - my hobby.

Greetings friends!

For me, philately, it is not only an opportunity to assemble a series of postage stamps of certain countries, years, themes, but also a kind of challenge for me, a competition.

I am happy when animals, birds, or other objects that I see on postage stamps from my collection appear in my photographs.

For example, today we will see another postage stamp with a face value of 4 kopecks of the USSR from series Nature Reserves of the USSR - Water Birds , issued in the USSR in 1976.

On this postage stamp, which shows us the inhabitant of the Krasnovodsk reserve, we see - Eurasian Coot (Fulica atra).

This bird is presented as an object of special protection, but fortunately, I can say that today there are a lot of these birds in different regions, wherever there is water and coastal vegetation.

I took these photographs in Moldova.

They capture the moment when the coots were left without their home, the city services decided to clean the lake of reeds.

The birds ran along the embankments and could not understand what was happening to their lake.

In Ukraine, in the city where I live today, there is a small river where I often see large families of coots.

They love to run over the leaves of water lilies.

Coots are often called water chicks and are the subject of hunting, but in urban areas, these birds feel protected.

Let's take a look at this postage stamp.

For my publications, I do not use stock photographs, it is fundamentally important for me to use photographs that I have made with my own hands for publication and I can name them - authorial work.
