Travel the World of Postage Stamps - Turtles - Hawksbill Turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata) - Cuba 1983 - Michel Cuba 2766 - my hobby.

Greetings friends!

I decided to stay on the island of Cuba, but move to another ... hotel? No, I decided to move to another year, for us, everything is possible, thanks to the Turtles series of postage stamps, issued in 1983 on the island of Cuba, we will take a leap in time and see amazing creatures that are hidden from our eyes in the depths of the sea most of the time. ...

The cheapest postage stamp in the series, which cost 1 Cuban centavo, shows a Hawksbill Turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata) sea turtle.

This is a relatively small turtle, so to speak about a turtle weighing more than half a centner.

This postage stamp opened my eyes to what was at my side, but I did not know about its existence. Moreover, this postage stamp is some kind of connection between the country where I live today, Ukraine, and the island of Cuba, where this postage stamp was issued.

For many years in a row, I visited the southern coast of Crimea, and spent many months there. I thought that I knew well the fauna and flora of the Black Sea, but I was wrong.

I talked with professional fishermen many times, but no one ever told me that in the Black Sea lives - Hawksbill Turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata)

She lives in many seas of our planet, but never leaves the sea limits, only, during the breeding season, the turtles crawl out onto land to lay eggs and give new life to the turtles, but she does this only on the islands of the Caribbean.

Look at the map of the world and you will see the colossal distance between the black sea and the island of Cuba.

It seems that such a swim is impossible, but not for turtles.

Let's take a look at this postage stamp.

For my publications, I do not use stock photographs, it is fundamentally important for me to use photographs that I have made with my own hands for publication and I can name them - authorial work.
