Travel the World of Postage Stamps - World Fair "EXPO-75", Okinawa - Russian Sturgeon (Acipenser gueldenstaedtii) - Soviet Union 1975 - Michel's USSR 4376 - my hobby.

Greetings friends!

"The sea and its future" was the title of the world exhibition EXPO 75, which was held in 1975 in Japan, in the city of Okinawa.

The Soviet Union, although it was behind the Iron Curtain, or rather, this curtain existed for ordinary citizens of the country who dreamed of seeing the world, took an active part in all kinds of exhibitions of the achievement of the national economy around the world.

This event was timed to coincide with the release of a series of World Fair "EXPO-75", Okinawa postage stamps, on which we will see the inhabitants of the seas and oceans washing the USSR.

These are huge postage stamps and it’s hard to imagine someone gluing such a postage stamp on a mailing envelope, lol.

Apparently, the government of the USSR wanted to show its generosity, because the nominal value of postage stamps is visually less than the cost of producing these postage stamps.

On a postage stamp with a face value of 3 kopecks of the USSR, we see the Caspian sturgeon, a machine for the production of black caviar, this is not a beluga. but its caviar is no less tasty.

At one time, this caviar was not very expensive, and sometimes it was free when we received a parcel from relatives from the Volga region.

This postage stamp has a circulation of 8,300,000.

Photo engraving is a stylized image of a sturgeon in sea waters.
