The infrastructure is of utmost importance even if people are to eager to skip over it and see a final product. Hive for example laid the ground for other apps to shine (like Splinterlands or Leo Finance are doing) and I hope that the blockchain infrastructure will continue to extend in order to be in line with the latest technologies and offer new ways of using and expanding within this ecosystem.
