Splinterlands is the blockchain game of the moment, there is no doubt of it and Chaos Legion presale boosted the entire metaverse to a new level. And with that, a new cryptocurrency that added to the tokenomics from here - Vouchers - and is moving earth and haven with a price that I couldn't have dreamt about of almost $25. The game mechanics are intertwining and they serve different use cases in the game, thus it appeared the need for multiple cryptocurrencies to serve them all. Thus next I will be presented with all these cryptocurrencies and the role they play in Splinterlands.

Dark Energy Crystals (DEC) are token rewards in Ranked Battles and as well can pop up in the Reward Chests. They can be used about everything in the Splinterlands from buying cards from the market to buying promotional packs (only with DEC available) until holding and receiving SPS tokens that are dropped daily for up to a year. Thus, DEC is the fuel of the entire Splinterlands realm and even if it was meant to be pegged to USD with the ratio of 1000:1, the multitude of its use cases pushed it to tremendous highs up to $0.01310 at the moment.

Spintershards (SPS) is the governance cryptocurrency of the game and is more valuable than Gold. It gives power for holders to be part of decision-making and have control over the product tokenomics that reflect upon the player-base, asset owners, and other stakeholders. This is airdropped for 1 Year and besides this can be earned from ranked battles, tournaments, staking participation in Liquidity Pools, Purchase Discounts, and many more other ways. The SPS price at the moment is $0.807584.

Vouchers are the new cryptocurrency which at this phase is awarded for free for those that have SPS staked and are used in the Chaos Legion presale by requiring to pair 1 Pack:1 Voucher. It is a form that SPS holders can keep the governance token while having a form of an exchange or use for the perks that they are given. Having a price near $25 mostly due to Chaos Legion presale, it is the most expensive asset mainly for the purpose it serves. And there are whispers that the Vouchers will be kept after Presale for a time for cards purchase and other use cases.

Credits are a pegged cryptocurrency with the dollar in the ratio of 1000:1 and the scope that it serves is to be able to load your account using PayPal instead of going through crypto. In addition to that, you can earn credits from referring others to the game and I think amongst Reward Chests.

Merits are a non-transferable individual currency used to buy items in the Guild Store. Everyone who participates in a Brawl will receive Merits when the Brawl ends. This, hurry open and join a Guild, participate in Brawl Wars, and receive your merits on the battlefield! Crowns are a non-transferable Guild currency. Items purchasable for Crowns are things that benefit the guild as a whole. Items purchasable for Merits will benefit individual players.

Splintertalk (SPT) is the cryptocurrency for blogging about Splinterlands and has a life of its own outside the Splinterlands game. The beauty of that is that not only do you earn it through blogging, but any amount is counted in a ratio of 1:1/4 in the SPS airdrop and you can also use it to buy art NFTs made by the Splinterlands team. And what is great above all is that you can trade most of these items on TribalDex where you have various Liquidity Pools for them, thus bridging the gap between the buying and selling price at just a few cents.
