I can't overemphasize how great it feels to be back playing Ranked battles in SPlinterlands again. It feels like it has been ages since I sold off my entire deck to the SEED project but once again I'm back and building.

A few hours ago, I talked about finally breaking into the Silver league and how I intend to make certain changes to my deck. Naturally, this will involve making certain tradeoffs and whatnot to improve the deck and I think I did fairly well.

Improving my deck involved a net spend of around -$20 that was achieved through a variety of purchases and sales. At the end of the day, I believe I ended the day with a much better deck than I started.

Planning

In the past three hours, I added 19 individual monsters of varying BCX to my deck. I wasn't able to max out any monster but my biggest achievement is probably ending the day with a level 5 rare fire summoner.

At the time of writing, I am still in Silver 1 league and climbing out to Gold standard is proving to be a bit more difficult than I intended. Breaking into Gold league will be the final piece of my Splinterlands revival journey, so I'm really excited about this move.

Anyway, my deck got a decent boost as I added some important monsters to my collection. It is important to add that my total expenditure in additions was through purchases and dipping into the rental market.

I decided to stay in the Wild side, so I brought in some good old fashioned oldies and also some of the relatively newer monsters into my collection. I also got in a variety of rarities.

The funds for this operation was raised through my personal stack of Hive and some strategic sale of some of my Splinterlands assets that are presumably surplus to requirement right now.

Keep in mind that my plan is to be able to at least compete favourably in Silver league and then eventually move up to Gold in the future. So, in essence, my immediate concern is comfortably climbing up the Silver league.

So what did I get?

I'm just going to climb up the rarities, as I'll be moving from common to legendary. I didn't buy any Gold foil but one was sold to raise funds.

To save time, I'll also just be mentioning the monsters I added without the price. To see the price and all my activities, you can simply visit my profile on Peakmonsters for more information.

So, out of the lot of monsters, I added to my deck, I believe a level 5 Goblin mech is probably the least spectacular monster I added. It is a very simple high mana costing hard hitting tank from the old days that I grew very accustomed to.

The thing I like about Goblin Mech is its simplicity because what you see is what you get. It is a straight up brawler that offers armour piercing and +5 Melee damage. It is also one of my early favourites in the past and I got it for myself.

Unlike Goblin Mech, I had to rent Elven Defender but it is also yet another solid Tank that offers shield ability for high mana enabled battles where Magic is turned off.

Virtually all the monsters I rented into my deck are from the old days because they tend to be a tad bit too expensive for me. Cornealus, for example, will cost me upwards of $200 to get a level 2 and that's money that I don't have right now.

Speaking of money, I did manage to splurge a bit on a couple of other monsters that includes Quix the Devious, Tarsa, and Thaddus Brood. Other than summoners, I added Divine Healer, and I got Tinderlock to level 4 where he has that magic reduction ability.

Other than raising some Hive, I had to sell a couple of monsters to raise funds and that includes a Gold Foil Shtispa and a Grandmaster Rathe, amongst others. To view all my SPlinterlands trading activities, go to my profile on Peakmonsters and then tell me what you think.

I ended up with a much-improved collection power but I seriously doubt I'll be able to compete in the Gold leage with the level of summoners I have. Immediately crossing over to the Gold side, I'll start working towards upgrading my summoners either through rentals or purchases.
