Growing your deck: Guilds, Events and Gladius

Many Splinterlands players don't actually know about some of the benefits that come from being in a guild and participating in activities. Honestly, I'm not even sure about the benefits of developing and contributing some aspects but I regularly participate and contribute.

Just a moment ago, I completed all my battles in a guild brawl and I've won 2 out of the 6 battles I'm to fight. At the end of the brawl, I'll be earning a different in-game cryptocurrency called merits.

Merits can't be traded externally and as far as I can tell, their only use is for buying Gladius cases. The gladius case houses 5 gladius monsters that can only be used in brawls.

I'm not sure Gladius monsters contribute to your collection power but on Peakmonsters it displays as if there's a burn value/collection power addition.

So, assuming your collection power actually gets boosted by gladius monsters, then you should be getting more active in guild activities. You should be looking at how you can participate in brawls, and also contribute DEC towards the improvement of Buildings.

I think guild participation is a nice way to augment your deck building activities. Well, you can't use them in ranked battles but at least they increase your collection power.

So, what I'm saying, in essence, is that you should be participating in guild brawls, to earn merits that you use to buy guild cases. Open the cases to get gladius monsters.

If you want to go a step further, you can also ensure you do daily quest because that also contributes to the growth of your guild. Every time you finish your daily quest, the Lodge of your guild is improved.

Tournaments

I'm not really one to participate in tournaments because I don't spend that much time in the game but I highly reccomend you consider participating in tournaments.

Splinterlands tournaments offer great rewards for participants willing to put in work in battles.

Tournament requirements vary but the most important thing to note is that you can accumulate tokens through participation. Some tournaments require entry fee, some require you to stake a certain amount of SPS, while others don't have any entry requirement.

At the time of writing, over $5m worth of tokens have been distributed to tournament participants. There's also roughly $33k worth of tokens waiting to be distributed in upcoming tournaments.

So participating in tournaments presents a sweet opportunity for anyone trying to improve their splinterlands activities. You can earn tokens you'll use to buy or rent monsters that will improve your deck.

Anyway, for the first time in a while, SPS is trading around 12 cents. I don't have big expectations for now but this slow pump could be a sign of good things to come.

I believe that the best part about growing your Splinterlands deck is the fact that you earn daily SPS airdrop. The rise in the value of SPS often leads to a rise in the value of your monsters as well.

So, your deck needs SPS to pump because it pumps with it, and you earn SPS from your deck. So you have to balance it out and make the most out of the situation.
