Leo, Splinterlands NFTs and second layer tokens; I want to buy the dip but I'm poor

Well here we go ladies and gentlemen, it is the weekend and I'm feeling the blues. Actually, if we're to get technical about it, I'm feeling the reds and it feels like I'm sitting on a stove.

I'm feeling the heat and it's not funny at all. It surely can't be the Russian crypto ban that's burning the entire market like this right?

Hive dropped below $1 for the first time in almost half a year. It is such a weird place to be in but I take consolation in the fact that it's not just Hive that's dumping. In fact, all things considered, we're not having it as bad as other assets.

The only sad part for me is the price of HBD dropping so hard. We really need to get this thing sorted out because in times like these, many people look to stable coins for safety and ours isn't stable enough.

I remember being excited to see Hive trading at this price last year. I was excited because to me, it felt like a sign of beautiful things to come.

My suspicion was validated and I turned out to be right about the price of Hive. We traded sideways in the 70-80 cents range and then shot up to the $3 range during a very sexy runup.

I can't say this is going to be that last time but you know, it is always darkest before daylight. Well, for whatever it is worth, it could always get darker but I hope it doesn't get to that.

It's easy to be depressed about the price of Hive now but as I recall, I've been able to do some incredible things with hive below $1.

Last year, I was able to fund my wedding and buy a car with a price below $1. It took a lot of my Hive but it was achieved.

I was also able to get my hands on a decent chunk of Leo token when Hive was below $1. Right now, I'm curating with roughly 11k Leo Power and that is bound to continue increasing.

I kind of bought the dip

Right now, I'm very saturated in crypto. In fact, the only"safety net" I have is HBD savings and that doesn't even feel safe if you consider how unstable the stable coin is.

All my other assets are in volatile crypto and they are feeling the heat. everywhere I turn, I see reds and it makes me feel bad I don't have a decent chunk of stable coin in my possession.

Well, I had about $53 worth of BUSD in my BSC wallet, so I used it to buy some Bleo. Thanks to the wicked drop in price, I was able to buy 334 Bleo that will inevitably be staked when BSC network sorts itself out.

Not sure what this annoying message means but whenever all the craziness settles down, I'll send that Bleo over to Hive and then stake it for curation.

It's pretty awesome that I was able to get over 300 Leo for just $50. This basically confirms what I was talking about yesterday]() in my post about cheaper alternatives to curate on Hive.

The dip didn't just affect Leo by the way, everybody was affected, so there are some interesting dip opportunities to capitalise on. YOu just have to look out for the opportunities and remove fear from your mind.

Hodling on to dear life

Right now, all I can do is hodl and lookout for ways that I can stake tokens. My plan, for now, is to get my hands on as many Second layer tokens that I can reach.

I'm also going to "splurge" in Splinterlands as well. I currently have about $400 worth of credit in my possession and I intend to use it to monsters and improve my battle rank.

I currently have a bit over 191k collection power, if you ignore the monsters I delegated out to my friends. I don't intend to take them back, so I'll have to boost my squad from my own end.

I'd be trying to get into the Diamond 3 league and I think it is very possible now that the price of monsters dropped dramatically.

I plan to upgrade most of my Chaos Legion cards because they're cheap as hell and they are pretty badass in battles. I'm watching the price of some legendary monsters in my deck and will pull the trigger on a couple of them.

There are still 9 days until the end of the season, and I think it would be really amazing if I manage to get into Diamond 3 league this season.

In summary

I'm poor but I'm trying to buy the dip. That's all there is to it. I'll squeeze out wherever I can and put those funds to work.

I'll upgrade my curation, NFT collection and everything in between. It will take some time, but eventually, everything will bounce back and when that time comes, I'll be very grateful for this decision.
