I am always fascinated by people who only talk about cryptocurrency in the good times. They're around during the pump and dissapear when things get hard.

There's a saying "love me at my lowest and you'll get the best of me". No where else do you see that in action than in the crypto industry.

The builders of community are the ones who stick around in a bear market. In fact, as @khaleelkazi often says in the Leofinance podcast, the market sentiment is irrelevant to builders because the project and growth is all that matters.

I've already concluded that no matter where life takes me, I'll always be involved with crypto and most importantly, I'll always be repping hive. I'll always be around the community, keeping my keys close to my chest and interacting with this wonderful community that has done so much for me.

This community, through upvotes and participation in various investment opportunities have dramatically improved the quality of life that I live. Food enters my mouth because of Hive, so gratitude is never far from my lips.

Staying the course

One of the things I absolutely hate doing is selling my hive but there comes a time when one has to make tough choices. For my family's safety, I have to leave this country but it's not only about safety.

Getting a decent paying job in Nigeria is a rather daunting task and frankly speaking, the alternatives can't even put fuel in my car. My only hope is to setup a business here and that's also something I'd rather not do because I don't feel safe around here.

It is an age old tradition for families to leave one country in search of opportunities in another. I won't be the first person to risk it all by liquidating everything and I certainly won't be the last.

My hope, in the long run is that our move will eventually make me less reliant on crypto for sustenance, thus enabling me to start properly saving for early retirement. I mean, how awesome would it be able to pay my pension through curation reward after accumulating hive power for the next 30-40 years.

The kind of opportunities I'm searching for will also enable me to earn in fiat and I'll be able to put my fiat to good use on Hive. At the end of the day, I just want to be more, have more hive staked, curate content and play my part in growing the community.

Alas, for now though, I'll have to briefly take a step back by selling what I have and the crazy part is that it won't be enough but it'll go a long way for sure.
