Well, for what it's worth, being a Nigerian is one of the most stressful things on Earth. From the moment you're born, your very existence puts you at a disadvantage in both the local and global scene, so the path to improvement is infinitely harder. However, the time I've spent on the Hive network has shown me that regardless of how difficult it may be, there's always a path to development.

This particular initiative hosted in the Nigerian Hive community comes at a fascinating time in the market. In the midst of all the panic and tension from the USD value of cryptocurrencies dropping, I have an opportunity to reflect on the important things.

A Career

My journey on Hive blockchain has shaped me into the man that I am today. Hive has helped me develop skills that have enabled me to thrive in Nigeria and grow as an individual in the process.

One important skill that I cultivated over the years is the ability to express myself through words. This writing skill has morphed into a profession that has enabled me to grow into a family man. However, I won't stop here because I have plans to evolve my skill into a business that seeks and employs talent.

Community

THrough Hive, I have met a lot of interesting people that are in search of a better life. I believe this common goal that you find across every community on the blockchain is the bond that keeps us together.

Through numerous interactions with hundreds of people I have met here, I have also imbibed my lifestyle with the ways of other cultures. By keeping an open mind, I have absorbed a lot of aspects of many cultures that have gone a long way in improving my own way of life.

I learnt a lot about the importance of information, about communicating with people in various settings and also how to live in a certain way in real life. My time around here altered my perception of investment, growing wealth and also kindness. I also learnt how to prevent myself from being exploited and also improved my perception of myself in the process.

Life on Hive

SO what does Hive mean to me as a Nigerian? Well, it is a lot of things. As a Nigerian, Hive has taught me that I can be self-sufficient and that my skill set is enough to provide for my family.

As a Nigerian, I learnt that I don't have to conform to the ways of society and hive gave me a high level of confidence that I try to teach others. Hive made me believe that I don't have to kiss ass and reduce myself to the prevalent corrupt ways of society.

Also, since I earn from my activities and numerous investments that I have on the blockchain, I also don't "worry" about anything. This financial security that I have is only thanks to all my numerous interactions that have enabled me to diversify my post earnings into multiple streams of passive income.

So what does Hive mean to me as a Nigerian? Well, it is a summary of my life. It is becoming a man and raising a family. It is being part of a community, growing a community, responsibility, connections and everything in between. Hive isn't just a blockchain for me, it is a way of life that I love telling people about.
