I have been trying to grow myself in the business field by trying to read new books that are business-related, I plan to start a new business by the first quarter of the coming year and I know that I will require increased knowledge in that area in order to succeed in the business world. As I am trying to gather the required funds to make this new business dream come through, I am also trying all I can to ensure that I gather sufficient information required to succeed in the business world.

As I try to read and gain knowledge, I will also be dropping some gathered information over here for my newfound community members and friends since we are allowed to write about business-related topics. Small business owners usually discard the need to have records kept as they run their daily businesses simply because they feel they are in control and since the business is small, they can conveniently run all business activities from the palm of their hands.

In the real sense, however, record-keeping is highly essential for small businesses who are interested in growing as well as for big businesses who intend to remain in business and flourish while at it.

The importance of proper record keeping.

  • A good record-keeping habit will grant a business owner access to information at the needed time, with a good business record in place, it is convenient for a business owner to always get back to the required information whenever there is a need for it.

  • A good record-keeping habit will help the business owner figure out if there is profit or loss being made in the business. You will not want to get into a business where you have no idea if you are making progress or not and the only sure way to get this proven is by checking the records kept.

  • Record keeping shows a great level of business professionalism, in cases where a business is to be weighed/scaled, a business where a record is kept will be more valued than the one without record-keeping.

  • Getting a business loan will be easier for a business with appropriate business records than a business that has no business record.

  • With a proper business record, you will not fall victim to overpaying or underpaying tax.

Running a business and refusing to keep records is a big mistake for any business to make. Every business owner needs to properly get up to date with business activities at all times in order for business success to be guaranteed.

Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to read through this post and to everyone who is helping me grow in this community I am still trying to find my way around here and that keeps me open to new suggestions that will help me grow, thank you once again.
