Splinterlands has become one of my best performing assets at least in terms of holding value in this crazy bear market we are having. Heck I'd even call it near depression market we are having as we roll into 2023.

The beautiful thing about this game is just how many aspects it has. From governance votes and tokens, airdrops, rentals, defi liquidity pools, land, packs, playing the game and most likely more are all options to earn and grow your ownership in this crypto game.

SPS Staking

SPS is the governance of Splinterlands which allows you not only to earn through staking rewards but also air dropped vouchers based on the amount of SPS you have staked. You can somewhat calculate this on a site called Splintercards

It's important to note that the SPS staking rewards will fall by 1% each month and there is a finite amount of SPS that will be printed (however it may at some point go into a governance vote in which case you would want a lot of staked SPS to sway it in any way you want)

Liquidity Pools

Liquidity pools have been a new recent addition to Splinterlands and it's been pulling some nice numbers. The pairs are as follows and can be accessed via this page Splinterlands Liquidity Pools These pools pay in both DEC and SPS depending on what pool your in.

DEC-Swap.Hive Pays out DEC SPS-Swap.Hive Pays out SPS Voucher-Swap.Hive Pays out SPS DEC-DAI Pays out DEC DEC-SPS Pays out DEC SPS-DEC Pays out SPS DEC-BUSD Pays out DEC SPS-BNB Pays out SPS SPS-WETH Pays out SPS

Many of these pools are over 50% APR which is currently higher than staking SPS in game. However take note that liquidity pools do have risks knows as impermanent loss.

Card Rentals

While this one doesn't pay out as good as it once did you can still make some DEC rental income from renting out cards. Currently for example you could take a $100,000 dec and max rent it out for around 20,000 - 25,000 DEC daily. Of course this depends on your card makeup and values.

I believe we could see this spike once land rolls out in 2023 but until then it just feels like there is way too many cards to players and it's caused prices to heavily fall. I often take a $200 value card and can only rent it out for about 70-150 DEC daily and that's if it gets rented. Think of DEC as valued at $0.001 each a 1/10th of a cent.

Land

Land is not expected to be out till possibly early 2023 so roughly 4-6 months before we see it in action. Personally I feel like it's going to be longer and push more towards Q2. With land comes the real ability to work the land and build passive income that way or from what I hear rent your plots of land out to others to be worked.

There is currently a governance proposal to start releasing SPS to those who currently hold land plots. The very rough estimate income for each plot of land is about 40 SPS per day*correction 40 SPS per month per land plot starting the first month (It will decrease by 1% per month after) That means when land does release to be worked on we could see a 4%-10% reduction in SPS rewards for holding those plots. From the looks of it that proposal is going to pass and at current numbers it actully makes land at current prices look like a great deal and ability to profit within 3 months. Of course all of those numbers are subject to change.

Semi Passive

While this isn't a passive income stream it's still worth a mention I believe. You could simply buy up packs right now for $4-$5 of the various ones currently and sit on them selling them at a later time. History of Splinterlands has proven this to be a worth wild venture however there's some new factors that go into Chaos packs this time around. A huge print value of 15 million packs. A huge rally leading into the sale followed up by a huge bear market we haven't yet seen in crypto/stocks.

With all that being said though there is high speculation at the moment that bitcoin should return to 35k within the next few months which in turn would most likely drive values of all other altcoins and splinterland assets up. Of course speculation and not expert advice. Do your own research before investing.
