How Hivestats Keeps Me Focused

With any blockchain, app or website we all have our preferences on how we like our layouts and what programs we like using over others. For me Hivestats provides me the solid UI I need to keeping track of things on Hive as well as some of the layer two community tokens.

You can view your own hivestats at https://hivestats.io and logging in with your keychain.

For myself some of the key things I like to keep track are are...

  1. My voting power - Hive itself UIs don't provide a very good voting power so I know what's going on and what I still have left. However Hivestats breaks this down for me in three very powerful ways.

(1) Shows me the current value of my 100% upvote (2) Shows me how much % voting power I have I never want this to go to a full 100% as that means I am missing out on curation rewards (3) Gives me a nice little breakdown as to how many hours until I get back to 100% voting power

For me I normally keep this between 90%-80% as 80% would be recovered in a 24 hour period of time. I often will curate more at night and make sure this has at least 12 hours on it so I can get some sleep lol

  1. My Curation APR
This gives me an idea as to how I'm doing on my APR for curation. It's slipped a bit normally I can keep this upwards of 10% but with the holidays, family and traveling it's slipped a little. Just to the left of this is your breakdown of payouts over the last 7 days. It shows you curation, author, witness, hive and HBD along with a decently rough estimate of your USD value for that day. As you can see as long as I'm making one post a day that I try and do it's about $50. Nothing earth shattering that I can live off of but it's still a solid amount for writing up articles and interacting with others.

To the right of this is a block which is my profile info. Personally I feel like this space could be better utilized and instead just a small little notification to show me that I am in fact looking at my account would be a better use of space. In this spot I would love to see the voting power animation but for the LEO token and perhaps the middle graph to be updated with LEO curation and author values as well.

Under this by default are stats and while I feel like it's a little redudent there are some other cool tab aspects of this section. By clicking on Analytics you'll be able to get a bar graph of all of your stats on hive including your payouts, powered up hive, HBD interest and more! As you can see from this my author rewards where $1,055.70 over the last month along with $529.57 in curation rewards! That's nearly $1,600 in value created by writing articles and intereacting with others on hive. This isn't even accounting for LEO or other communities tokens which I make it a point of going to each day and interacting on as well.

Why do I interact on these each day?

The primary reason is I follow people on these communities I don't directly on hive. Thus I get to see more posts from them. For example a splinterlands post might not always end up on leoFinance as it doesn't apply to it. Or a 3Speak video might not be on one community but I'll find it on another. This is GREAT because I can now go to a community when I want to find that kind of content that is of interest to me. (P.S Politics do not interest me at all it's just a bunch of people fighting over what a few people in government are doing) Instead time would be better spent on voting, building your own wealth and helping freedoms and decentralization and not get all twisted in random text battles on socials it's legit pointless! Anyways just my two cents on that :)

The wallet tab is ok as well. What I do like is the introduction of right hand bar now with Hive, HBD, LEO, CUB and APYs for CUB and BLEO-BNB. I kind of wish this wash more flushed out though and perhaps in it's own box as I feel not many people are clicking on these top tabs.

Under this section is is your Hive wallet which is one of the coolest aspects of it all. It breaks down ALL of your Hive and layer 2 tokens providing you with how many you have, staked, not staked, and the USD value of them all.

Back up at the top are articles on LEO finance which I do like. The reason for this is some days I'm pressed for time and need a good article to vote on for curation and instead I rely a bit on other trusted curators. I try and put time each day into curation but with holidays right now this makes the perfect section for a good read or a vote if I have some curation voting power left. So thank you to those who constantly keep doing manual curation it does make a huge difference on a platform.

That's my HiveStats story and how I use it. I encourage you to check it out and start using it yourself at https://hivestats.io/

Let me know how you use Hivestats yourself in the comments your favorite thing and least favorite. Write a more detailed example such as this yourself and tag it with hivestats as the first tag for your chance to win 500 LEO! Full details on this can be found in this article here
