Two Years of Hive\LEO\Community
It's hard to believe that Hive is only two years old today. On it's two years the launch of the first ever video mining token will also be released for the SPK network in T minus 2 hours. While development seems slow and hard to see take root tere's actully been a large amount of changes to hive in this last year. In this post I'd like to go over just how far we have come in those two years and highlight some other projects that I feel could be massive for Hive.
Play2Earn
One of the biggest explosions last year was the term play2earn and with it came one of the largest wealth and amount of users Hive has seen in a long time. That game being Splinterlands there are other games however that have launched and spread their wings with more to come. Current Games

I see no slow down in this area of hive and instead only massive potential for growth and wealth through these play2earn games. One of the biggest advantages of Hive like WAX is the feeless system which makes gaming all that much more fun! The last thing I want to do when playing a game is paying a bunch of $0.001 - $3 microtransactions just to be able to do something.
Community
I think community is one of the most powerful things and hive does a very good job with creating such communities and ecosystems. I would say 2 years ago the only notable communities at that time where hive of course which is a general slush pool of everything and LEOFinance which centers around investments and anything finance related.
That has since grown with community and value. Tokens such as CTP which also launched the first ever viral mailer that is fully crypto based now called ListNerds Now reading some emails can earn you CTP tokens and Listnerd tokens both of which fetch a rather nice price on the market.
Gaming Community
I'd have to say that SPT toke for splintertalk opened up the real possibilities of how to take a game and introduce people to community through comments and blog post. Here people share their stories about splinterlands, battles, strats and more. This also started to expand last year into tokens such as oneup for the 1upzone community and from that I've seen other places such as PIZZA community really grow and expand. The gaming space on hive is growing and there is huge potential there to be active and be a part of.
Music
I think this is a place that is still highly undervalued but there's actully a lot of work and community going on here. What started as VIBES token Music for life and then Rising star Game has now started to expand into places like Beatzchain and a music focused NFT platform called NFTTunz.io
DeFi
It blew me away when last year LeoFinance launched their first ever DeFi platform called CubDeFi which is part of the Binance blockchain. It's connection with Hive is through it's token LEO which can be wrapped and used on the Binance blockchain. From there a more recent launch is PolyCub which introduces defi 2.0 and with it some cool new features learned from the launch of CubDefi. PolyCub is on the Polygon(matic) blockchain and offers up defi there. It has a connection to Hive via it's community token LEO which can be wrapped and traded/used on the Polygon(matic) blockchain.
We also saw the introduction of Liquidity pools to hive recently and those have been exploding with some seriously huge APRs!
Overview
In general we are seeing many new places grow and come to hive and I believe these are the platforms we should be supporting with some marketing and funds. These are the places and people have have stuck around and continue to grow the hive ecosystem. It's something I'd love to see some of that DOA fund money be used for as they are the ones truly building the community and front ends that people interact with.
