Here's my attempt at writing some lore for the 3rd WOO LORE contest, featuring "The Maritime Monser" Mad Mike, by @wrestorgonline and @dibblers.dabs of C/SCHOLARANDSCRIBE

"Why do we have to waste time fishing on a boat in the middle of a lake?" grumbled Mike.

No sooner had the words left his mouth, when he felt the sting of a fishing pole whipping across both his cheeks, in quick succession, with unerring accuracy.

"Ouch! Master! What was that for?" Mike groaned.

"Silence! Be still! Focus and be One with The Fish. Only then will you master my ultimate move - The Fish Hook," said his Old Master sternly.

"What?" Mike chuckled, trying to contain his laughter after hearing what his Master had just said with a straight face.

Sensing his Master's fishing rod lashing out again, he ducked successfully and grinned at his Master. "You're not getting me this time. OOOF! Wha...?"

The words had barely left his mouth when he'd found himself suddenly hurtling out of the boat into the water. He had barely registered any movement from his Old Master, and yet, the Old Man had somehow snatched a fish swimming by and flung it at him with the power of a missile.

"You can swim to the shore. Learn to swim like a fish to be One with The Fish," said his Master as he started rowing off without Mike.

When he finally got ashore, Mike started chortling at his Master's words again. The Old Man was eccentric, and half the words he said didn't make any sense to him at all, yet there was no denying his skill with the Fish Style of martial arts. He was determined to master it and become the very best martial artist in the world.

Calming himself down, he relaxed into a meditative pose as he held out his fishing rod in front of him. He then worked his way through a litany of exercises, swinging the fishing rod in a flurry of jabs and lashes just as his Master had taught him, before heading back to his Master's abode.

Years passed as Mike underwent day after day of constant and grueling training. Pushing himself to his limits everyday, the secrets and philosophies of his Master gradually opened up to him. His movements would be as graceful and swift as a fish gliding in the water, and yet, the blows from his punches and kicks would have the power of a Great White Shark.

The final day of his training found Mike and his Master sparring on a fishing boat in the middle of the lake once again. The two men somehow fought without even rocking the boat, the water around them completely still with not a single ripple emanating outwards. Yet, one could feel the power in every kick and punch as the two of them dodged each other's attacks. Trying to end the deadlock, both men suddenly snatched a fish from the lake and flung it at each other. The fish collided in mid-air, and the force of impact resulted in a ring of water exploding around their small fishing boat.

When the water cleared, both men were standing still and splattered in fish guts, but both of them (and the boat) had nary a scratch on them. The Old Master suddenly laughed out long and hard for a good 5 minutes. Mike's jaw dropped. He had never even seen his Master smile before, not to mention laugh.

"You are now One with the Fish Mike. Go forth and make your name known and let everyone out there know the Power of the Fish Style of martial arts," commanded the Old Man.

Mike bowed to his Master thanking him for imparting all his skill and knowledge. It was now time for the next phase of his life. The world would now feel the might of the Fish Style of fighting. He would spread it's name far and wide and see the Fish Martial Style ascend to the pinnacle of the Martial World.

3 years passed by in a flash.

The crowds in the sold-out arena were cheering wildly as the announcer made the introductions.

"Presenting the undisputed Champion of the World, winning every title in every region of the world! The current Champion of The Americas! Europe! Asia! Africa! His blows have the power of a Great White Shark, The Maritime Monster... Mad Mike!"

The fireworks went off as Mike made his entrance and walked down to the ring. He had the swagger of a supremely confident champion, having achieved a perfect victory since his debut those years ago.

He had been wiping the floor with the competition in small town martial arts tournaments until he caught the eye of the Big Boss of the Wrestling Organization Online (WOO), Mr Bookerman. After the two men went on a fishing trip, Bookerman was convinced he had a rare gem on his hands. He persuaded Mad Mike to make the switch to wrestling where the international audience and exposure would spread his Fish Style of martial arts far more than traditional martial arts competitions.

"And today! Our Champion, Mad Mike, will fight not one, not two, but three opponents all at once!" said the announcer as the audience gasped.

Three huge burly wrestlers ran straight into the ring as they started the fight even before referee rang the bell. The three wrestlers hit nothing but empty air though, as Mike glided gracefully through all three of them with blindingly fast speed, whilst raining down a flurry of blows as he passed by each of them. As the fight went on, two of them eventually toppled over, exhausted by their futile attempts at hitting Mad Mike, while receiving an inordinate amount of punches and kicks in return.

The last wrestler suddenly turn tailed and ran. Having seen his comrades fall, he knew there was no longer any chance of victory. Just as he thought he had gotten to the edge of the ring though, he was suddenly hooked back, a sinking feeling washed over him as he felt himself losing control over his body. The crowd roared!

"Mad Mike's Fish Hook!" shouted the announcer, "It's time for Mad Mike's coup de grรขce!"

The panicked wrestler who had been hooked back found himself locked in a submission hold. "Mercy please Mike! Mercy!" he pleaded as he saw the deadly glint in Mike's eyes.

"You are NOT One with The Fish," deadpanned Mad Mike, "Be prepared to feel the full force of the Way of The Fish!"

"1! 2! 3! It's over!" yelled the referee as he gave the countdown.

The crowd stood up and gave Mad Mike a standing ovation as they chanted his name. Mad Mike raised his arms in jubilation as he savored yet another victory. This was the right move indeed. There was no better place to spread the words of his Old Master than in the wrestling rings of the Wrestling Organization Online. The whole world would soon come to know about the Fish Martial Arts Style, and his Old Master would have his hands full training all the new students from all corners of the world.
